kai Body Wash, Rose, 8 Fl Oz

I have been looking for a rose scented bath & body product for a while, but either they were too strong or hardly any scent. This one is perfect!

Smells like heaven

This body wash smells wonderful. Rose in mentioned in the name, but it's actually more of a traditional floral scent built around rose. Meaning the rose is there, but it doesn't overpower you. It's a noticeable scent while you're bathing, but stays with you only as a slight skin scent afterward (which is what most folks want). The wash works well and does moisturize without leaving your skin feel greasy. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is the price. The bottle says to use a "quarter size" portion per wash, and that doesn't seem realistic; we use at least twice that per use, at times three times as much. So the bottle won't last much longer than your average body wash. And that's where it gets pricey. I'd like to use this again, but, at this price, I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it over time. I will say that this would make a very good gift. It's the kind of luxury item that people won't always buy for themselves, but which they'll enjoy using if it's given to them. A basket of kai bath items would be excellent, as I've used a few and they've all been nice.

Smells nice, feels nice. I tend to get scent nausea and this hasn't triggered that for me. I like it as a body wash or even to swirl it around in my tub. You have to like the scent of rose to enjoy this. A hint of gardenia too. If you already like Kai, then the price won't scare you away. Definitely a luxury item! If not for you, then maybe as part of a nice gift for someone who wouldn't normally spend money on themselves. I think it is lovely! Bottle is petite with press cap. A viscous gel like fluid that lathers nicely, rinses clean. Scent lingers on skin and in bathroom. Is is pleasant to me. Skin feel after my shower is ok. I tend to use a moisturizer so I didn't notice my skin feeling dry nor extra moisturized. I do like the ingredients that are used as well as their intentional avoidance of some ingredients. "the kai collection is crafted with nutrient-rich ingredients and beneficial antioxidants to soothe the skin, including vitamins A, C & E, grape-seed extract, comfrey & cucumber extract, and shea butter. with over 25 product offerings that are vegan, and free of gluten, microbeads, sulfates, parabens, phosphates, and phthalates, kai is cruelty-free and never tested on animals."

Not my favorite! The rose smell is VERY strong in the shower but doesn't necessarily linger on your skin. It doesn't lather up too much but still feels like it cleans your skin pretty well. I love that it is free of sulfates and phthalates, but it has a REALLY long ingredient list- even longer than my typical, inexpensive body wash. It left my skin feeling sticky afterward, which went away with lotion. But even the lotion didn't get rid of the itchiness! Even if I loved this product, which I absolutely do not, it DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $40. I've ordered other Kai products, including the body buffer which I love, so this product was even more disappointing since I expected good quality and a great smell.

If you love the scent of roses, then you should love this kai Rose Body Wash. It was a very gentle, lightly foaming cleanser, rinsed cleanly but for my skin, I did still need a body lotion afterwards, as my skin felt a bit tight and not quite as soft and smooth as I thought it would feel. Not necessarily a deal breaker, since I feel like this body wash's primary focus is more on the scent than the moisturizing aspect, and in that respect, it delivers a very strong rose scent that lingers on your skin for hours. It's not overpowering, just a soft lingering rose scent. Unfortunately, my sensitive skin took exception to something in this body wash, and about 15 minutes after my shower I experienced some redness and my skin started to become very itchy. As I applied the same lotion that I always use post shower, I can't attribute the irritation to that. The only difference was the body wash, which while it has a scent rose lovers will love, my skin did not. It's not necessarily the company's fault - my skin can be reactive to scents at times, and this was just one of those times. But a word of caution to those who may have very sensitive skin - this may not be the body wash for you.
