Great DIY Booknook
I ordered this book nook kit because it looked really cute. I was very hesitant, not sure if I could handle it. But it comes with everything you need. The only issue I had is sometimes the illustration seemed a little confusing, but if you trust the process And take your time. It is a great thing to have. Great as a gift. Great for yourself. I love it. I was so proud of myself. I even was able to assemble the electricity without issue. now I definitely want to order another one. Totally recommend.

Good Kit, Some Issues
This kit was fun to put together. Looked great when finished. Would have liked to give it 5 stars but several issues kept me from doing that. 1. Their directions could have been better, they are not very detailed. 2. They tell you to heat shrink the plastic tubing that covers one of the lamps. But don't give any direction on how to do that. If you don't own a heat gun then you will not be able to complete that step. So I don't feel it's right to include something not contained within the kit. 3. All the painting you need to do in this kit is annoying because the wood sucks up the paint like crazy. I had to go over areas 5 or more times in order for it to look like there is even paint on it. 4. Not for sure what is going on with the battery compartment but the lights keep going off. They come on when I pick up the the product but as soon as I set it down they go off. Batteries are new I just have to constantly move them in the battery compartment to make it work. 5. Ran out of glue, they don't give you enough. All in all, the finished product looks like the picture on the kit.

Fun, beautiful!
My daughter and i really enjoyed putting this together. The instructions are clear. I really appreciated that there were extras of the fragile pieces, although we didn’t need them. We used some tweezers to pop out small or tricky pieces. We can’t wait to place this on our shelf!

Beautifully Designed and Highly Detailed Kit
This kit was beautifully designed and was a joy to assemble, and has resulted in a lovely and fun decorative display. The attention to detail is astonishing. The parts in the kit are small and very delicate, and it takes a great deal of care and patience to assemble, but that is exactly what I was looking for.

I've built 2 booknooks and this was definitely the more challenging of the 2. It has extra pieces which is good as several are very tiny so need smaller fingers. More glue -- which is very quick drying -- used than in my other one which was mostly connected wood pieces. Tons of fun!

The wood shapes kept breaking and/or don’t fit together properly. At least the glue was usable this time. Instructions can be unclear and wiring is complicated.

As you can tell from the photos, I bought 'Magic House' because it resembles Diagon Alley and thought it would be cool to have on my shelf with all my Harry Potter books. I'm not creative at all and have no experience with arts and craft. This project was easy and fun, and gave me a sense of achievement when completed, especially when the lights worked at the first try! I think it took me maybe 6 hours (one evening). I didn't break any wood pieces but I believe there was already a wood piece missing during their packing process - there is a small circular piece at the bottom of the shop wall street lamp, but luckily it's more of a finishing touch and you can't see it at all from most angles and probably won't even recognise that something is missing even if you were looking. The lamp itself was fine but definitely needed the glue even though the manual doesn't instruct you to use glue on it. The set includes a large tube of glue and you definitely will not run out of it - I think my tube is still like 80-90% full! The set also includes a small sheet of sandpaper but I had no idea until everything was done and I was cleaning up and wondering what the black square sheet was for! I don't recall the manual mentioning it but it could very well be user error (i.e. me not reading the manual completely word for word). The sandpaper is used to clean up the edges when you detach the wood pieces, but I had just been using my fingers to carefully tear the splinters. Not the greatest idea from me in hindsight! The deduction of a star is because of the tacky 'Magic House' fixture at the top front of the book nook. It sticks out above and to the side of the book nook and really gets in the way when slotting the book nook into a shelf with other books. However, as you can see in my photos, I decided not to construct that part of the book nook - it looks OK but you can see the partial 'Magic House' outline if you look closely. I'm sure people who are more experienced and crafty can probably add some wall markings to make it look more like a brick finish though. The other reason for the deduction of a star is because the wiring is not the greatest, as you end up with a coil of wiring that you need to hide behind the shop windows, which are translucent, so you can just about make out the coil of wiring if you are looking through the shop windows carefully. I'm sure there is a way to hide the wiring but the instructions don't make any suggestions, so you have to be proactive and think of a solution yourself. You won't realise the wiring is visible until you assemble everything in the final steps when you screw the walls together and there's no turning back, so be warned to figure out how to hide the wires before you screw all the walls together at the end! It should be easy though - just bend and loop the wiring under the window sills. Anyway, all things considered, I would definitely recommend this set and give it 4 stars, as it is a good quality set and everything you need is included in the box (other than a AAA battery)! I hope my review helped!

Partner is a big fan of a book nook and this one is a great addition to the collection. Pieces are of decent quality and the finished product looks great! Would buy another of their products in the future!
