First of all, the silicone caps are well worth the money! I didn't expect them to be anything other than they turned out to be. But I have been using 5-gallon bottles for over 14 years, and I wonder if the newer ones have changed the lip of the bottle itself?? I have 5 older circa [early 2000] and, with careful handling through those years, they are still in near new condition. I have hauled my drinking water for those years because I was not satisfied with the taste of the Florida "city" water in any of the towns in which I lived since moving to the state in 1999, so I began buying spring water in bulk for a buck for 5 gallons of good spring water. Even when the water went up a number of times, it still was much cheaper and safer than using the local water for cooking and drinking. I now pay $2.25 for 5 gallons, and I still favor the taste and the quality of the spring water over any "treated" water available.The problem I found was with the curvature and the "sharpness" of the edge of the necks of the bottles as they were merely shaped over the opening to look like a "rollover" spout but in fact they were single thickness of plastic which makes for a very tight fit and almost a sharp enough inner edge of the spout to allow some abrading of the silicone cap when inserting and removing it from the bottle.Maybe I am part of the minority of drinkers who are still using the bottles left over from years ago, I am now 82 yrs. old myself and sometimes feel a bit "left over" myself! My advice to anyone who decides to buy the same type of 5-gallon plastic bottles which I use, it would do well to check the inside lip of the bottles to determine if they are of a sharp plastic nature or maybe something smoother. Newer bottles may have a newer design on the neck openings, but I would most likely pay a few dollars more for the type of silicone cap with the "pull down" skirt on them which comes down over the outside of the bottle neck and also allows for a pull-out pouring spout for dispensing small quantities of water from the bottle. [or so I assume]

These work great for our reusable 5 gallon water jugs. They do not spill when a bottle tips on the drive back from the store. They push on easy and clean well also. No complaints

They fit nice to the 5 gallon jugs we have and they stay put.

They fit on the 5-gallon jugs nicely. But they don't stay on! When you go to set them down the silicone caps just pop off of them. If the water jugs tip over the caps come off and you end up with a huge mess of water everywhere. In order for them to stay on the jugs you have to tape them on. I have to bring a roll of tape just to wrap around the caps when I fill up my water jugs.
