They arrived earlier than expected which was great because I ordered them too late for "guaranteed arrival" ...
I ordered 3 boxes to put cash in for Christmas gifts for my kids. They arrived earlier than expected which was great because I ordered them too late for "guaranteed arrival" by Christmas. My only shipping option was USPS. The only time I have problems with Amazon's guaranteed arrival date is when a product ships USPS; never a problem with UPS or FedEx. It would be nice if more shipping options were available but I understand that's not always practical for some sellers. Quality is high. This is not a toy - it is a well-made puzzle that looks like it will last quite a long time. It appears durable enough that it would be okay if dropped on a hard floor a few times but I'm not going to try to prove that theory. Well made - not cheap. There is some kind of matte finish on it - a little less glossy than the pictures. The finish is attractive. It would look nice sitting on a dresser or a fireplace mantle. The pieces fit together tight and movement is not too stiff, not too loose. There is no way you could move any of the pieces by shaking the box. The box is a little smaller than I imagined when looking at it on Amazon. They do show the box measurements in one of the pictures. Pay attention to the picture with the inches next to the box. If you can guestimate inches you will know what to expect. If you can't then grab a ruler and make sure you know what you are buying. The 4-sun box is smaller than a deck of cards inside, look for the review with the pictures of a tape measurer held against it for an accurate idea of size. I watched a YouTube video before I bought them so I had an idea how to open it ([...]). I opened it in about a minute without reading the instructions (4 sun 10 step). I would expect to spend several minutes or more without any instructions. since some of the parts have to be moved more than once in the same direction, opening without instructions is not intuitive. I expect "giving up" happens regularly. Overall, about what I expected for the price. Nice little curiosity piece.

High Quality
I bought a puzzle box a long time ago from a website and it was very expensive. I thought it was worth it though when I received the puzzle box. This box is made from the same quality and is a little bit cheaper and it shipped faster which is great. How many "Suns" a box has is roughly how large it is. I bought this box as a gift to a friend and wanted to put an ipod touch in it for him to find, however, upon receiving the box it is important to note that a 5 sun box is approx 5 inches outside length, not interior of the box. There is close to 3/8" thickness in the walls, so take that into account when buying these for a specific purpose to put something in it :) I believe the one I bought was 4.7 inches length and an iPod is 4.2 in length but it wouldn't fit the interior. Anyways, the build is awesome, it is incredibly difficult to see the lines from the parts of the box that moves, the design is gorgeous and workmanship is a 10 out of 10. Eventually I will buy one of the 40 step + boxes that are ridiculously expensive. Another thing to note, and it tells you on a paper in the box is to keep it out of direct sunlight, and do not force it. It is made out of wood so obviously humidity and temperature changes will effect the box. My sisters puzzle box wouldn't open last winter after she left it in her car, but it worked after being brought in. Definitely a recommended product.

Super cool puzzle box for my son!
Got this puzzle box as a gift for my son (9 years old), who loves this sort of thing! It was a bit challenging to do the initial open, but once we figured it out he can whip through it. It's a nice place to hide some of this things (though the inside box size is rather small, it works well for marbles, money, etc.). The box itself is well crafted, and looks beautiful.

A little pricey but was genuinely loved by my daughter as a Christmas gift
A little pricey but was genuinely loved by my daughter as a Christmas gift. The exterior inlays are very pretty. The interior is non-descript with bland pine. The box works very well mechanically and is crafted solidly. Will not quite hold a gift card flat in it but you can still make it fit by adjusting the height on one side of the card.

Puzzling
I bought this for a teen and they loved it. I purposely took out the directions so they could try on their own without referring to them. I personally couldn’t get it fast enough with the directions so I didn’t put anything in it before gifting it but after a hint I was able to do it in my own no problem :) we will probably buy a larger one in the future but this was a good beginning to intermediate box. Quality is really nice.

Cute, small, somewhat simple
I got this as a gift for my friend who loves puzzles. I put money inside as well so I got to try it out. I was worried about breaking it before even giving it but it held up. It’s cute and served the purpose and it took me some time to figure out. Because I was worried about forcing a piece or breaking it I did end up using the directions. My friend on the other hand figured it out relatively quick. It seems like if you’ve done one before this will be easy. Again it served it’s purpose but seemed a little easy and was smaller than I realized. I read the reviews and saw it was small but I had to role the money, a gift card could not have fit. Overall it’s a nice box and cute :)

Great Craftsmanship
This was an excellent gift for a friend who loves puzzles, although she did solve it very quickly so if you're gifting to a nerd then get one with way more steps.

Cool but...
Very cool. It is a box. It is a puzzle. Beautiful on arrival. But... The durability of the material was a surprise. This is basically the thinnest, softest possible wood. The box scratched (by accident) very very easily so handle with care. It's an interesting amusement but not likely to last very long.
