eXtremeRate Replacement D-pad R1 L1 R2 L2 Triggers Share Options Face Buttons, Chrome Green Full Set Buttons Compatible with ps5 Controller BDM-010 & BDM-020

After seeing someone post custom controller kit results on Reddit, I decided I had to freshen up my Day 1 DualSense controllers.I wanted a fresh look, which the eXtremeRate wood trim gives, but also to differentiate the controllers so they no longer looked identical.I got these with my PS5 on release day, so they've been put through some wear and tear, they show as the BDM-010 model according to eXtremeRate's guide.For the button kits, I chose to go matte instead of chrome. My obsession with tea meant that the Matcha Green color was an instant sell, and it looks great paired with either the Coral or the New Hope Gray (which is what I went with).Even with the included tools, I did find getting the controller trim and the casing to separate a bit of a chore. As a result, there's some slight damage to one of the controller's left hand-hold.Once the controllers were open things went smoothly, for the most part. It's worth noting though that you want to pay attention to the silicone backstops for the controller's top buttons. The darker spot should be facing you when you place it back in. The first time I did this, I had it facing the wrong way behind the power button and there was too much pressure, resulting in the controller not powering on. I took it apart again and just flipped the silicone, everything worked perfectly after that.The eXtremeRate kits look great, they give a nice unique touch, and for the price, I have no complaints at all. I would definitely buy these again if I was looking for more.

R1 and L1 came out different

I went with the full wood detail on my controller, all eXtremeRate gear so you'll see this review on the other parts too. Not a terribly difficult project but it is very time consuming. Be sure to watch every video you can on how to take it apart properly. The main shell pieces are the easiest to deal with. Pop out the piece connected to the sticks first, then split the front and back plates, then you're in. The top two clips on the side near the L1/R1 are the hardest to pop out, but the rest after that is all screws. All the back shell pieces feel real smooth, as well as the buttons. BE WARNED: if you're replacing the touchpad it requires some type of heat gun to melt the glue to peel of the PCB board. I didn't know this going in and had to improvise with a blow dryer and a razor blade to get under it. The touchpad version of the replacement touchpad has two screws, but the newest model of PS5 official controller only has 1 and a notched slot. This is to make sure that the pad, the PCB, and the plastic piece connected have a TIGHT connection. With the two screws you have to make sure they're all the way tight. I don't think I did this correctly and now my pad sits slightly higher than the original and feels very slightly wobbly. I think something similar happened with the Options and Share buttons as they are slightly more recessed than the original. Overall, they all work as they originally did, just the feel is SLIGHTLY off. You'll need some tweezers and a light grip as well for removing the ribbon cables in the internals. There's no instructions in the box, but there's plenty of YouTube vids out there to get you where you need to go. Fun project for the evening, but took me about 3 hours to finish and test afterwards. May go back in later to fix the pad and other buttons, but overall happy with how it came out.

EDIT: went through and did a total reinstall and fixed it, but L2 is a little wonky which i think is my fault and their excellent customer service sent me new ribbons to hopefully fix it! if you ever have any issues, check out their reddit it's a great resourcelooks awesome, the buttons are a little different than before but now it only works on the main console page and related features? none of the buttons work in game except for the PS button which is strange to me as the hamburger option button doesn't even get any wiring. i've tried a soft and hard reset, nothing yet. not sure what i should do or if i'm screwed

My trigger button was made wrong

If you’re not comfortable with taking apart these controllers then great. Not for beginners this is advanced installation. However there’re plenty of videos to refer to on the internet or YouTube. The only thing I kept out was the middle PS button looks unrecognizable. Four stars for that only. Otherwise great way to add some cool customization!

The L2 and R2 triggers were both made with the L2 trigger layout. That means that I wasn't able to replace the R2 trigger. The L1 and R1 didn't fit my controller.

The media could not be loaded.  I was worried these wouldn't work based on the somewhat lack of good reviews. But I made sure to read the directions on the pics before purchasing and felt my controller would be fine. My husband set it up for me and it was a little tricky at first but with the help of a video, we put it together! The purple is a little dark compared to the photo but I think I'm glad I went with this instead of the violet. I think I'll purchase some more parts for my other controller later, this shop seems trustworthy so far. I mean, these aren't amazing Sony official buttons, but they get the job done customizing my controller how I want it.

I misread the description and thought these were for ps4 controllers however that was my own fault .. I was still able to modify the d-pad so I could use it but unfortunately I cannot use the other buttons. They are great quality and a really pretty color so I highly recommend!
