Consistent quality
I have bought this brown rice and Niskhki's white rice for many years. It's grown in California and the price is a little bit higher than other rice, but I think it's worth it. The quality is consistent; it cooks up well in a cheap rice cooker and tastes good by itself or with seasoning and stir-fry.

Tasty!
This brown rice is awesome and tasty. Taste nice and it just takes longer for than normal rice to cook but good for health.

Excellent rice but a bit sticky
Just cooked my first batch of this. What a difference from normal store bought brown rice. This rice is chewy and and has a nutty flavor which I love. Won't be going back to store bought again. Instructions say to soak rice 30 minutes and then cook. I soaked a little longer and then cooked it but still had water left over. When saving in a container I noticed it's really sticky. Not sure how to fluff the rice to get them to not stick. I would love that restaurant quality style where each piece is separate. Any tips let me know. I'll keep experimenting.

Quality brown rice
Takes twice as long to cook compared to white rice, but worth it for the nutrients and health benefits. I didn’t see any bugs as raised in some other reviews but do agree the packaging can use some upgrade.

Perfectly Cooked and Nutritious!
Nishiki Premium Brown Rice has exceeded my expectations in several ways. As someone who appreciates good quality rice, I found this product to be a fantastic choice. The rice cooks perfectly in my Zojirushi rice cooker on the brown rice setting. Following the line inside the pot for how much water to add and how many cups ensures consistent results every time. The grains come out firm yet tender, maintaining their integrity without becoming mushy. In terms of flavor, Nishiki Premium Brown Rice has a subtle nuttiness that I really enjoy. It adds a delicious depth to dishes and pairs well with a variety of cuisines. Whether serving it alongside stir-fries, curries, or using it in sushi rolls, it consistently enhances the meal. Another aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the value for money. Despite its premium quality, Nishiki rice is actually more affordable than what I used to buy at my local Asian grocery store. This makes it not only a superior choice in terms of quality but also a cost-effective option for regular use. Packaging-wise, the 15-pound bag is convenient for storage and ensures that I always have a steady supply on hand without worrying about running out too quickly. Overall, I highly recommend Nishiki Premium Brown Rice to anyone looking for a reliable and flavorful option for their pantry. Its consistent quality, great texture, and competitive pricing make it a standout choice in the realm of brown rice options available today.

Great quality brown rice at a fantastic price
Nishiki’s premium bag has rice with great texture and delivers a sturdy chew that holds up to anything – curries, stir fries, or late-night regret meals. It cooks in about 50 minutes on my rice cooker’s brown rice setting, so yes, you’ll need to plan ahead unless you enjoy crunchy rice ASMR. The aroma is pleasantly nutty when cooking, enough to make your neighbors wonder if you’ve finally stopped ordering takeout. The grains look clean and consistent with no surprise guests (aka bugs) scurrying around, unlike certain discount brands I’ve tried that felt like an audition for Fear Factor. The packaging is thick and reliable, though after wrestling with the resealable strip a few times, I gave up and dumped it into an airtight bin for sanity’s sake. Overall, if you want a no-nonsense brown rice that tastes great, behaves predictably, and doesn’t turn to mush, this is a fantastic purchase!

This is a good brown rice.
The instructions for this differ from the basic brown rice at the grocery store. With rinsing and soaking, cook time is almost 90 minutes. However this is a really good rice, and it works nicely for dishes that call for cold rice (like fried rice).

Nutritious and Delicious
I’ve been switching to healthier food options lately, and this brown rice has become a staple in my kitchen. If you’re looking for a wholesome, fiber-rich alternative to white rice that still tastes great, this is it. First off, the quality of the grains is excellent. They’re clean, uniform, and free of debris. After cooking, the rice comes out fluffy, slightly chewy, and nutty — exactly what good brown rice should be. It holds its shape well and doesn’t get mushy or overly sticky like some lower-quality brands I’ve tried before. What I appreciate most is that this rice is versatile and satisfying. I use it for everything — stir-fries, grain bowls, soups, even as a side with simple steamed vegetables and protein. It pairs well with almost anything and makes every meal feel a bit more wholesome. From a health standpoint, it’s packed with fiber, essential minerals, and complex carbs, which help keep me fuller for longer and support better digestion. It’s a great choice if you’re trying to eat clean, manage weight, or just feel better overall. Cooking it is straightforward — I usually rinse it once or twice, then cook with slightly more water than I would for white rice. It takes a bit longer to cook (about 40–45 minutes), but the nutritional payoff is worth the extra time. The packaging is also great — resealable, sturdy, and keeps the rice fresh for weeks. I appreciate that there’s no strong odor or strange aftertaste, which I’ve unfortunately experienced with some bulk options before. Overall, this brown rice is now a must-have in my pantry. Whether you’re focused on health, taste, or both, this product delivers. It’s affordable, filling, and a great foundation for nutritious meals.
