All the whiners and complainers... here's why!!
Well, I had to really ignore the whiners and complainers feedback and took a risk buying this unit - and am so glad I did. I am sure there is a small percentage of actual product malfunction or defective, but I am suspicious that people just don't follow instructions. So here's some highlights to end future whining/complaining:1. The unit has to sit UPRIGHT for at least 24hrs after taken out of the box upon delivery!! You can permanently damage the compressor if you turn it on right away (duh! read the instructions).2. The unit is for 300sq ft or smaller room, don't try to fit it into a living room and think it will work well.3. Reduce the length and tight turns on the exhaust tube out to the window exterior!4. The unit now comes with the drain hose, you attach it to the drain hole on TOP as in the diagram from the manual, there is indeed an upper and lower drain hole. The lower drain hole needs to be plugged up with the rubber plugged tied to it (as I receive it UNPLUGGED, plug it up!!).5. I have a Frigidaire 8,000 BTU window unit AC also, this one is about 50% less noise than the loud-arse window unit!! So if you have never heard of a window unit AC in operation, then of course you will have whiners and complainers writing it is soooo noisy (until you hear a window unit AC in action!!)I hope that helps all your journey in determining/deciding to purchase this.

Fantastic!
I love it! Thank You Luko! It is exactly how I want it to be.We transferred it to the living room and I added a small air circulator and voila!!It cools off my entire living space and our house is 2009 sq ft.It has filters that are to be rinsed once a week. Very easy. And it has a tube to empty the water on a towel or something.Take the complaints of others with a grain of salt. We are in a lifetime where we should be grateful and blessed and be kind.I like my unit and I’m grateful for having a cool home in the hot humid Hawaii.🎁

100% worth it
I recently moved to Seattle from MN (ironically to escape the sweltering mn summers). The past month or so has been unbearably hot, and there's only so much a few fans can do. I tried one of those mini $30 "portable a/c" units and it was actually worse than a regular fan, even with ice. After sweating my body weight in water in the span of a few days, I broke down and spent the small fortune for one of these bad boys. I am so glad I did. It's extremely easy to set up (just snap the hose into the window thingy, and then slide the window thingy into the window, plug in the unit, and bask in the sweet relief). It's a little loud, but no more so than a regular unit you might find in a hotel. Just that kind of white noise hum. Its actually quieter in the end, because I can turn all my noisy fans off. I could hear my TV over it just fine.A couple things I really like about it:- smaller than I thought it would be (in a good way!)- has wheels, so can be moved around easily- has a child lock so kids (or cats) can't press the buttonsMy only gripe:- the window panel doesn't fit my window super well, in that there's a gap on the top portion. It's very small though, and easily remedied by some tape.Tl;dr It's extremely simple to set up and move around, it's easy to use, and it cooled down my 350ft studio in less than half an hour. If you need an a/c and have the money to purchase one, get it. You won't regret it.

Beat the heat! Money well spent
I am so glad I went with this portable air conditioner. Easy set up and assembly and super easy to use. It's perfect for a room or office, but it's so powerful it definitely blows cool air past the room. I have a black and decker portable air unit in my living room and it although it is very good, it is not as good as this Luko one is. Look no further. Go with this. If I had to pick a downside I would say would be is it's not quiet but for me that was actually a pro as I love white noise.

Works great chemical odor that wears off over time.
Overall great unit for my use. I don't have a sliding window so I had to make something to work for my crank style window, but I figured as much. The unit is a little louder than I had hoped it would be in my small room, but as long as I am not on the phone it doesn't bother me. The strong chemical order coming off the unit right out the box was the only real con which is why I gave it a 4. It has been slowly smelling less but man is it overpowering the first week. I would recommend this product, but definitely suggest letting it air out in a big area before putting it into a small room due to the odor.
