I bought it because if I want sharp sourness in foods such as hummus, or tartness in pies, salad dressings, I can use a dry product vs a liquid lemon/lime juice. Hummus becomes too runny with liquids so this works well. Then I find out that it is very good for you for liver, kidneys, lowers blood pressure, detoxes, etc.Don't try to taste it straight, very sour! Mix with water as a drink or add to sweetened fruit juices for tartness. Look up the health benefits. Its an excellent product. Keep it sealed off with some dry silica gel packs inside the jar to keep it dry. Get these from vitamin packs.

I remember the days when the only choice to buy a chemical was from Aldrich. The malic acid came without CoA without any purity info but it is a white crystalline powder you would expect from Aldrich. Except that I would never put anything from Aldrich into my mouth. This one tasted pretty good.

I don't have anything to test purity, but ratios in comparison with other products seem to have equal effectiveness in my soda pop and cooking needs. 2lbs is a lot, but was a good value and I will use in a few recipes. This stuff has to be very pure because a 1-2g extra can really affect the tartness of the end soda.

Works great in making super juice

This says powder but it is 1st and foremost NOT a powdered product.It is a large granulated product, think of a large pick rock salt shaker, clearly defined, visually geometric shapes.As such if what you intend requires POWDER you will need to take an extra step and put this in a food processor of some sort or grind it yourself.Otherwise it is the best value per ounce on Amazon.

It seems that malic acid is not purchased much so I got very old stock. Usually, I get citric acid with a several year expiration, but this malic acid expires in over a year, which is disappointing.

Came pretty clumpy but I crushed it up smell is fine seems to be decent quality worked for what I need.
