Beautiful book, great science, inspiring story, awesome representation
Eugenie Clark's story is fascinating and inspirational, and the illustrations in this book are gorgeous. There's even a little bit of fun shark science to learn in this book too. It's also really nice to have a book about a scientist who's half Asian and female - if there's another children's book out there with that type of representation, I've yet to find it. One of the little girls we gave this to was super excited to see someone like her in a kids book!

Great, inspiring story
Well-liked by my 4th graders, who had to choose someone to research and write about for women's history month. This is one of my favorites in my classroom library.

Beautifully illustrated, interesting biography of The Shark Lady
We really enjoyed all the brightly colored illustrations, the fish, the sharks, & even Eugenie herself. Learning about how Eugenie Clark changed the way sharks are studied, observed, & even lived with was inspiring & we are excited to further by starting our own shark study at home… & at the aquariums & beach this summer.

Beautiful. Great inspiration for little girls
Beautiful illustrations. Great inspiration for little girls. I had a good talk with my daughter about how girls can do all the same things as boys.

Great story! Lovely illustrations.
My son loves sharks and this popped up in the Mighty Girls page. I love their recommendations.Gorgeous illustrations. Great story. However this is nit picking, and I don’t know publishing, but the paper or illustration quality/typeface has that lower end publishing feel. Not from a big publishing house. I wish the typeface was more interesting.

Love it
My daughter (3) and I love this book! it promotes girls fighting against career stereotypes and going after whatever dream they have regardless of others opinions. This book has great information on sharks and shows that girls can do anything they set their mind to. It was factual, entertaining and gave so much insight but was very age appropriate. I would absolutely buy this book as a gift for friends after owning it myself. I want more books like this!
