Wasn’t functional
The motor we received didn’t work. We returned it and decided to try a different brand of motor.

Nice grinding spindle
This spindle appears to be properly maid. I did not use it in operation yet, but it runs pretty smoothly at various speeds all the way to 24000 RPM. I use a Hitachi WJ200 VFD to drive the motor and still need to optimize the VFD parameters. The first thing I did was to check the ER20 socket runout. It was less than .0001". A 6 mm collet, which came with the spindle, was not really 6 mm, more like 5.8 mm. But it still ran within a few tens, checked on a ground pin of appropriate diameter. I have a brand new Techniks collet, which checks very good on taper angle and runout. I have used it to check the new spindle. Taper angle looks good with "Bearing Blue" paste. The runout of the 1/2" pin in a collet varies from .0001" to .0003", measured about 1" away from the collet face. This is better than advertised and I am happy to see that. The collet nut threads are a little too sloppy for a good fit, but the runout on its OD and face is only a few tens. In addition the nut is balanced. In addition to Techniks collet I've got 2 new Chinese ER20 collets in 3/8 and 1/2" sizes from a different seller. They are made extremely poorly with tapered bores and .003-.011" runouts. My advice - stay away from such bargains. All my attempts to get any information on internal spindle construction failed. The seller does not know anything about the product. The factory promised to supply the information, but did not deliver. So the only way for me to find out the details is to take the spindle apart, and I am not ready to do that yet. My overall impression of this spindle is good, but like I said before I did not test it in real working conditions.
