Flame Rain Gauge

I love this rain gauge. It is pretty at night and the numbers are large enough to see from my window! 3-8-2025 UPDATE…Not so happy with this rain gauge now!! After the winter in NC, the glass tube broke (my fault, forgot to take it inside); however, this company does not offer a replacement tube! After searching several websites, there doesn’t appear to be a 7” tube anywhere! Guess what, after waiting to finally get sunshine, the solar power isn’t working either!! Soooo, I have a really pretty rain gauge, which doesn’t measure rain nor light up at night😡. Don’t waste your money!!!!

I purchased this rain gauge not only for its practical function but also as a piece of garden sculpture. We'd had no precipitation in some time but today there was a gentle rain for much of the day. The gauge captured two inches and this was the approximate amount of precipitation that our area had received according to the local weather report. The tube is thick glass, it is easy to put together and the little bird is adorable. Whether it rains or not this little sculpture is a pretty addition to the garden.

I really like this rain gauge! Perfect size, well made, pretty and anchors well into the ground. I have not had any rain at this point, but measures an 1” when I run my irrigation system. Nice 7” glass tube. I know to bring this in during below freezing temperatures, as other gauges I have had cracked when residual rain is in the glass and temperature drop. I highly recommend.

I live in South Georgia where it is supposed to be warmer. This is the second time I have had a rain gauge shatter from winter weather. Two years ago, my rain gauge of ten years broke because of the freeze. Not bad after ten years. This one, though, only lasted two years. The glass was very thin and it shattered with the snow storm this year. The design is quite lovely and I like the wide opening.

I really like this rain gauge, we get many birds so the little bird on the gauge really fits in with the environment. Unfortunately, we were out of town when the weather became very cold so I could not bring the glass tube inside. It cracked and already needs to be replaced.

I do NOT bend over these days, so I looked for one that wouldn't make me. This comes about to my waist (I'm 5'2" tall) so I can just reach out, lift out the glass tube, hold it up and read it. It has inches on the left and centimeters on the right, which is really nice when you can tell that a "trace" of rain is actually one millimeter or two! I have some trouble reading it, but that may be because I have eye problems that make it hard to focus. It SHOULD be easy to read for anyone with good vision, at least if you can hold it up against a dark solid-color background. (The markings are gold colored.) The scrollwork and bird are a nice decorative touch, very pretty.

LIKED THE RAIN GAUGE VERY MUCH EASY TO READ.

The glass is VERY thin, only about 1 mm thick. So it broke after a 40 cm (16 inches) fall onto the deck wood. Just got in touch with the manufacturer to see if we can get another measuring container (The glass part)

Arrived in perfect condition in spite of the box being crushed in shipping. The post is a little flimsy but is adequate. Happy with the purchase.

Glass gauge doesn’t fit in the slots provided. I tried carefully bending the bottom up to get it to fit but cheap material will likely crack. Anticipate the glass will blow in the wind and break. Very disappointed
