Yummy, Thick, Spicy Clam Chowder. A go to meal.
If you like clam chowder with a little bit of kick to it, you should give this a try. I really like it! I have 2 or 3 cans over the course of a week. It makes a very filling quick (3 minute) lunch with crackers, or even a dinner with a sandwich and salad. Plenty of potatoes, pieces of clam and a creamy thick broth that's nice and spicy.

Taste
Taste like REAL New England clam chowder. Be aware of you people who are sensitive to salt. It is a little higher salt. The taste is amazing! I can’t find this product here in upstate New York in many of my big box stores. I found it once on accident in a family owned grocery store. Dont be taken by the color … it’s not true white !! Must try !! You won’t be let down !! The value .. yep worth it .. it’s thicker !! Yummy !

Good but could be better
I love New England Clam chowder and sadly there just aren't many places that make a mean one. The best you can do is Campbells. I do like the taste of their "chunky" and "homestyle". So I decided to try this new 'Old Bay' variation. It's good, but nothing special. It does not taste like the regular, because the seasoning changes the flavor making it stronger. Or should I say, "saltier". Does the seasoning make it better? Not really. It just the chunky flavor with the saltiness of 'Old Bay'. Instead of having a more "white" looking soup you have a "reddish" tint to it thanks to the 'Old Bay'.As a person who has cooked with 'Old Bay' seasoning, it is not a seasoning you can just toss onto on into a stew or soup without knowing how to make it the spices involved in the mixture work, because it is very salty. Just like Lawry's seasoning salt. What I would like Campbells to do is actually take the time and make a New England Clam chowder that is on par with what the Southern or Northern fishing restaurants make. A strong clam flavor that actually sings with sound seasoning that compliments everything. But I guess this is the best Campbell's can do considering it's history. Plus, this is canned soup.Would I buy this again?Nope. I'll stick with the regular variation.

If you love old bay this is for you
I didn't like the flavor. I've never had old bay seasoning before but I'm guessing that's what was off for me. Campbell's other clam chowders are excellent. I always have at least one in the pantry. This was the same good quality, just with a different spice.

Kind of a hybrid taste...
...between Manhattan and New England style, but spicier. Good news is that only one can of three arrived dented!

very spicy
I'm sure many shoppers would be very pleased with this product. As a native of New England, I was hoping to purchase the product in repeat orders. I'm disappointed because it is very good, very tasty, but way too spicy for me.

Not for me
I found the seasoning in this to be unpleasant, although I usually enjoy Old Bay seasoning —a little bitter and a touch too spicy. Sodium level is also very high so this isn’t the healthiest choice. On the positive side, the soup is thick and hearty with plenty of potatoes.
