I had wanted to upgrade my hatchet sheath to a full-head sheath and not just an edge one. Construction is excellent but the sheath was pretty tight in my Hults Bruk Tarnaby Hatchet. The last image I uploaded shows the combination together. I needed to expand the leather, what leather workers call it casing I think, to make it fit better.Here is how I got the sheath to fit better (from BladeFourms): Warm water in a sink or bowl. Submerge the entire piece for about 5 seconds. Take it out and wrap it up in a plastic bag. Leave it for 6-12 hours.What you are trying to do is add only as much water as you have to and let the water dispurse equally through all the cells. If there is too much water, when you stretch it, it won't hold the shape. Too little and it won't stretch easily and/or as much as it can.If the casing is right, once the leather stretches, it will stay stretched so leaving the knife in won't be necessary.If you have access to the plastic used to make overhead projector slides, folding and trimming a piece to sandwich the knife and pushing it into the sheath with the knife after most of the stretching has been done will move the leather a little bit more and make it fit better, with less rubbing, after it dries. That's a thing holster makers often do.

Very thick leather and very well made. Took one star off for price. This cost more than an average axe. If you don’t mind the price -it’s a fantastic, well made sheath that looks great

For the cost I would have preferred the use of heavy duty copper and or brass rivets and brass buckle.

I received the sheath very soon after ordering. It is a superior product and I'm very happy with it. I have an old Super Banko hatchet and the sheath fits it perfectly. The measurement diagram is correct. The bottle of Axe-Guard treatment was a surprise bonus. I highly recommend this sheath.

This is probably the finest example of a durable leather product that I have came across, very thick, well stitched, and very well detailed- would recommend and buy again.
