I'm a beginner to skincare and especially to chemical peels. People on the internet warned me that this wasn't beginner-friendly, but I strongly disagree. This was a perfect introduction. The instructions were very clear, the peel itself was simple to use, and the results have been great. I'm working on some acne scars and general skin redness on both my face and arms. On my arms, I don't usually feel anything from the peel (which I use about twice a week), but the results are quickly visible in the next day or two. On my face, there's a light stinging kind of itchy sensation, but it's not unbearable or painful, and I still like the results. I really like this peel and I think the slow and steady ones are probably a better fit for me than the more intense ones people talk about!

Great product, works and doesn't peel or dry out skin, makes skin smooth, but do not use on any open skin, it will burn

This is serious stuff. I have dry, aging, cystic acne prone skin. If you use this while using retinol and/acne cream, you will get serious irritation if not a chemical burn. I wouldn’t use any of those products for 2 weeks before using this. On the other side, this is really effective, unclogs pores, and does make your skin feel like butter immediately after use. It will burn like crazy when you are using it so I recommend fanning your face when using it. Do not go over the recommended time of use to avoid serious irritation. Also I deeply moisturize my face after use, like an overnight mask, oil, or sheet mask. Usually all of the above. I did notice a difference in the frequency and severity of my breakouts. This is a product that is also not beginner friendly. You really need to build up to the maximum use time and frequency, I still experienced effectiveness when I would use for 2 minutes. To recap: don’t use retinol or acne products for 2 weeks before use, get ready to deeply moisturize after use, start slow and build up. I would also suggest getting the soothing barrier serum from The Ordinary, using that immediately afterwards is a 10/10 for me. Good luck!
