I was able to dye my fabric a beautiful yellow

After buy one of these to dye my daughters carpet at a local store, I seriously miscalculated how many I would need! I ordered these got them right on time. And got back at it on her cream colored carpet it came out a beautiful light grey color. ( I didn't let it set but 15 mins) also we had extra so we did some tie dying and solid dying with the extra ( did the recommend time) and came out extremely black just like she wanted! She was so happy! Great product like always RIT knows what they are doing with their products and is the only dye brand I trust.

I purchased this dye to refresh my towels that are about 2 years old and have some bleach stains. The towels were pretty pricey and they are still soft. I've never tried dying fabric before and compared different products before choosing Rit. I did the washing machine method.The first time I attempted to dye my towels, I did not read the instructions and just went with a whole 'hot water and dye' soak method. That did not work. Then I looked up the instructions. I still didn't fully follow this instructions but here's what I did do:-I put a bunch of towels in the laundry and put my washing machine on "Deep Fill" on the Hot Water setting for Bulky Items. While the water was filling the basin, I tossed a handful of Himalayan Sea Salt into the water. I also squeezed what I thought was a tablespoon of dishsoap into the water. When the water was high enough to submerge the towels, I emptied an entire bottle of Rit Charcoal dye into the machine. I closed the lid. Once the cycle started, I switched the water back to "Cold" because dye runs in hot water.-After the cycle completed, I did the EXACT SAME THING with the Rit Colorstay.-After that cycle completed, I washed the towels as usual and put them in the dryer.BEHOLD: The towel on top is dyed and the towel on bottom is yet to be dyed. I haven't tested these so I don't know if the dye runs or how long it lasts. The dye didn't completely cover the bleach stains but it worked well enough and I would do it again.

I used this to recolor my 58 year old sleeping bag and it turned dark green with two bottles. Alot of it stayed in the water though, I used mighty hot water too. Good for cotton , no good for cotton polyester. The zipper is still silver, maybe I should have used three bottles. Try it for yours.

I’ve used other Rit dye colors and had really nice results. I’d give the other colors 4 or 5 stars, while this one gets 3 because the color of the packaging and name are WAY off. I went in knowing that some reviews had tealy-navy results and was fine with that should it happen. And it did.I followed the stovetop instructions like I have for other clothes I’ve dyed with Rit. I added the cup of salt and teaspoon of dish soap, keeping water well above 140 for 30 minutes. The clothes all got fixative afterwards for 20 minutes in HOT water and then were washed on a normal cold cycle.The two shirts on the right got double strength dye (a full cup), while the shirt and dress on the left got normal strength. Useful to note that the middle two (shirt and dress) both had a medium green base to start, and I was hoping to achieve a deeper green. The picture doesn’t really do it justice; the color is a lovely, rich teal-navy blue. But it sure is not dark green.

I used this once before but did a rush job. If Cotton or natural, one cup of salt and a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. If synthetic substitute vinegar for salt. If top loader washing machine let it pause and soak after you have filled with very hot water. The first time I tried, I was not able to cover bleach stains( note, I ignored salt. I had bleach stain on charcoal grey robe. Instructions said it might not work on bleach stains. It did. If at first you don’t succeed, try try again. The robes were super expensive so very happy.

These bottles are 5-8 dollars on the shelf. Too expensive I regret purchasing

It’s not the best for dying certain materials

It clearly said that it’s for two bottles and i only received one, disappointed.
