Micro-Mark battery hobby paint mixer
I have used this paint mixer several times to mix model and hobby paint. I find it a very simply designed tool, inexpensive and works very well for my needs. It is a little too easy to touch the plastic start switch that makes contact with the flat metal battery connection thus turning it on when you are not ready. But this is an easy fix (this is also the battery cover that slides in place on a rail) slide the battery cover/switch lever off. Heat the plastic a little with a candle flame or small heat source and bend the contact lever back a little to create more clearance away from the metal contacts. This may sound complicated but when you have the mixing tool in front of you it should be much easier to understand my instructions. With that minor detail taken care of I am quite pleased with this little tool and wish I had it a long time ago to mix paint.

Works great. Does what's it made to do.
Since getting back slowly in building car models ,I needed a small mixer to mix the small jars of Testors enamel paints. And this mixer does it great. Yes it is a little difficult to open the battery compartment, but I found out that if you press on the top edge of the plastic tab used to operate it and push it straight back it will pop the battery cover right out. The cover and plastic tab for running it are all one unit. You might find one a little cheaper, but this unit is from micro mark and I feel go with a company that been out there awhile. Also use a flashlight on your phone or ant light source to see inside to find out which way the batteries. Also this little mixer even mixed paints that had separated in the bottles. Just go slow at first ,so as not to make a mess 🙄. For cleaning the end off I use a alcohol wipe, and then some orderless mineral spirits. If it has dried a little I will put some of the mineral spirits in an empty jar and run the mixer in it. After about 30 seconds or so it's clean.I would highly recommend it.

I'm very thankful for this mixer!
I am a professional painter working in egg temepra. Rather than powder pigments I prefer to use a pigment dispersion (pigment in a water body with a binder). Many of the pigments separate considerably to the point where shaking will not help. This little mixer does the trick! It makes the pigments homogeneous with very few bubbles even after 15mintues of mixing. The small size of the head fits perfectly into my 2oz. bottles with a 1in neck opening. Many other products are too large. The shaft is a bit shorter than the bottle but it swirls well enough to pick up and incorporate the pigment at the bottom of the bottle.I would agree the plastic aught to be sturdier but I believe it will hold up well. For the manufacturer, I would happily pay a little more for a sturdier plastic housing. If you are having difficulty with the batteries, check out the video. It will help you figure out how to install them properly. Overall, thank you. This product is exactly what I needed to prepare my paint.

I love this tool
I have a large collection of paints. Over the years, I found that some of the paints need to be thinned out and this paint stirrer is perfect to get the job done. Very powerful and it is my "go to tool". It is so fun to use that I want to open more paints, just so I can use this tool.

Not for me
It works, but it's not as small as it says it is, as it doesn't fit in most paint bottles. It won't work with Vallejo or Amy Painter, or any other dropper bottles. I decided to return it since it doesn't work with the paints I use, and besides, the quality feels pretty low. Sometimes it sounds awful, as if it's going to break. I'd rather return it before that happens. For the price, I don't complain much about its quality, but it would be nice if its head were at least a few millimeters smaller to fit these bottles.

Great little paint mixer.
I bought this to mix craft paints for airbrushing and really impressed how well it works.Just a simple device, not a top shelf item but it works well for what it was made to do.There are more pricey mixers available but it's like comparing a Kia to a Cadillac, both will get you where you wanna go, it just depends on how you want to look getting there.I'm a Kia sort of guy I reckon. This works great for what I will be using it for and the price point is awesome.

Absolute trash
There should def be a 0 stars option here. These people should actually be ashamed to put this out there. The battery area sparks every time it’s turned on (and there’s no off button or anything so to turn it off you have to remove the batteries), the button to control the mixer is basically just there for show and does not give you anything and I didn’t even get to use it once bc the mixer does not fit into the machine so it just falls directly out. This product is pure trash and not at all what is advertised here. Spend your money elsewhere and save yourself from dealing with this bs.

I like it alot. Simple and exceeds my expectations
I'm gonna be honest i wasn't having high hopes for this when I ordered it but I was surprised. It really works well and is convenient. Is it cheaply constructed and top notch quality? Yes and no but.....it's good where it counts. The metal shaft is pretty good and simple to clean. I use enamel model paint and you just stick it in lacquer thinner in a jar and turn it on and poof done. Same thing with water and acrylic. No scrubbing or cleaning just wipe dry. It mixes paints like a dream. I think this is well worth the money and then some. Like I said it's kinda cheaply designed on the handle but...who cares? It works. Sometimes the simplest designs work the best. The only thing we have to wait and see is longevity and such but as long as the motor holds i don't forsee a problem.
