A Must Have if You Have a Freezer Full of Meat

Siren can be silenced, but feature should be built in
In case anyone wants to silence the siren on this like I did, peel off the 4 little rubber feet, unscrew the 4 hidden screws, pull the top and bottom apart, and then just snip the red and black wires going to the siren. Put it all back together and voila, you have a silent power outage detector. If you ever want to un-silence the siren, you can solder the wires back onto the board.While this workaround is quite simple, I don't understand why YoLink, as well as most of the other brands I've researched, don't include an easy option to silence the siren on these power outage detectors. I don't want to bother my neighbors with a loud siren. I just want to receive alerts if the power goes out.The best you can do without taking the thing apart is to set the siren to the shortest time possible: 10 seconds. Bafflingly, the app does have an option labeled "mute," but I have no idea what the mute option does--it certainly does not mute the siren.Aside from this, the detector work as described. Hopefully it will hold up better than my old one (MySpool, which did have a silent siren option but also began sending me multiple false alarms on a daily basis after a few months).

Protect the food that's in your freezer if it's in a garage like mine is
Had to replace everything in my freezer once I bought this power failure device and I get immediate notifications on my phone and also audible alarm if anything goes wrong

Great little sensors for protecting fridge
I use these to notify me if the GFCI gets tripped on the circuit where I’ve installed our garage fridge and freezer. Works great. Peace of mind that your food isn’t defrosting without your knowledge. Love the app. I have several of their different types of sensors and they all work well and are thoughtfully designed.

Never worry about losing power to that deep freeze again. Just set it up plug it in and it will sound an alarm as well as send you alerts if there's been a power failure in a particular zone.

Does not work with IFTTT or Alexa
Purchased this product hoping to trigger a Alexa voice notification when a freezer power outage occurred.The product description says it works with Alexa & IFTTT, but this Power Fail Alarm does not work with either one of them. No trigger in IFTTT and Alexa cannot recognize it.
