Behringer UV1
Very good for the price point, it’s basically designed off the DBX 286 but this as a built in audio interface so can be easily connected to a pc via usb. Again for the money it’s worth having a look at, I’m very please on how it performs.

Great product, reasonable price!
A very good and cheaper alternative to the DBX offering. I used this as a pre amp which routes into a separate audio interface. This was due to a limitation on my work laptop where I can't install drivers. So I needed to use a plug and play audio interface (Zoom AMS-24). The modulation options on the UV1 are good for what I needed it for. It has compression, de-esser, boosting low and high frequencies for warmth and clarity, expander / gate which gets rid of ambient noise. I now sound like a radio presenter on Teams meetings. A bit overkill, but multiple people have given me compliments on the quality of the sound from my microphone. Everything works well and feels good quality. I am knocking off 1 star because it would be better if the mic input was in the back instead of front for better cable management. Otherwise it's a very good product.

The UV1 distorts the audio signal, imparting a very slight metallic quality. The unit is designed to fit in a rack, and so it is pretty big for desktop use. The preamplifier gain is too low for a microphone. I experienced thermal noise when setting the preamplifier gain to maximum.

Plug is 2 pin, had to buy converter, maybe the product should say it is two pin so can buy converter at time if purchase as a UK buyer.

I’ve been looking at five figure channel strips, but decided to begin with this one. I’m so impressed that I stopped looking for an upgrade or replacement. This has done wonders for my sound and has cut down on my mixing time in the vocal chain by hours. Highly recommended.
