Quality funnel - filter works well too
I render my own lard and needed a metal or high temperature funnel when transferring it from the pan to a mason jar. I saw for a few dollars more I could get the Kuchenprofi with a filter so I figured I would give it a shot. The screen hole sizes in the filter is small and don't look as small as a metal coffee filter screen but the lard came out just as clean, so it seems to do a good job.Overall, the funnel is nicely built and feels sturdy. The filter does not fit tight, it fits snug and sits in a tapered part of the neck of the funnel so that it doesn't move around when liquid is poured into the funnel. I've only used the funnel for filling mason jars and it sits in the jars perfectly stable. (I think it has enough weight & width to it that it doesn't move at the slightest bit of pressure like a super thin & tall funnel would.) The surface area of the screen is large enough that I have not had any problems with it backing up or draining at a tedious rate. As the other reviewers have mentioned everything about it is quality: the handle is nice, it has some weight and thickness to it, the funnel & filter are easy to clean, the filter is not extremely delicate, etc.All in all is it worth it? If you don't use a funnel many times a year or don't do much canning then I would say no. If you're like me and bad tools that you use often piss you off when they don't work then spend a couple dollars more for this. (I also like that fact that this is made in Germany as opposed to China. I would prefer the USA, but Europe will work.)

Wonderful! Highest Quality!
Phenomenal product! Love at first use! I use it to filter oil from my deep frying setup, and it filters 98% or better of the impurities and takes less than a minute to filter over 2/3 of a gallon of oil.. The wide spout kicks butt, and the mesh insert is finer than I had anticipated, making it able to filter all but a few specks of fried fine flour or cornstarch when using them as coatings. Heavy, sturdy construction--this funnel's European manufacturing stands out (refreshing in this day of poorer quality Chinese goods).Only drawback I can see is the strainer just loosely sits in the funnel, making a possible separation and loss during storage a possible issue for some households. I put funnel and strainer into a sealable plastic bag and store inside the cleaned fry basket between uses, solving the problem for me.A little pricey, but SO EFFECTIVE and so sturdy and quality made, its worth the money. Makes the formerly laborious chore of filtering deep fryer oil so much easier! Highest recommendations!

Very good quality
I use this with disposable 6 1/2" milk filtering disks to strain cooking oil for reuse. I strain the oil into a glass canning jar. This funnel is very stable on the jar and makes the process very easy. It is very good quality material and washes easily in the dishwasher. I've had mine for several years and just bought one for my daughter. I much prefer it to a plastic funnel. The large opening allows the oil to drain more quickly than a regular funnel. I highly recommend. It should last a lifetime.

Great funnel for liquids
I finally found a wide mouth funnel that wasn’t for jams/jellies. This funnel is taller with a more narrow circumference than those made for cooking jam/jellies. With the width of a jam/jelly funnel, I have to keep it carefully balanced when I’m using more narrow mouth jars or it will tip sideways and slosh out the liquid, creating a big mess to clean up. This funnel sits straight with very little chance of tipping unless I’m pouring the liquid too fast and high inside the funnel; and the taller, more narrow circumference makes the liquid funnel faster.Working faster in the kitchen with less unnecessary clean up. What’s not to love??Really glad I bought this.

Good versatile wide mouth funnel when a regular liquid funnel won't work
This jam funnel is great for transferring thick liquids directly into jars or bottles. I was hoping to use this funnel and my fine kitchen strainer to pour espumas directly into my iSi 2470 Thermo Whip Whip Cream Whipper . But because the funnel neck is tapered, the funnel's neck doesn't completely sit onto my thermal whipper (less than a third of the neck goes in). iSi makes a funnel for this purpose (for about $30 each if you can find it sold other than in a 4-pack). I guess I'm back to using my small strainer and large Pyrex measuring cup.I'm finding other uses for this funnel. I use this funnel for refilling peppercorns in some of my peppermills. I also use it when I'm counting my prescription tablets to help pour the tablets back into the large mouth prescription bottles. This funnel seems to be made in Germany. The handle is a dual round loop welded to the funnel which does not cut into my fingers as I use it (compared to a flat stamped loop like most funnel handles). The top of the funnel measures just shy of 4 ¾" while the bottom of the funnel's neck opening is just a bit over 1 ½ inches wide. The neck of the funnel has a slight taper. The top opening is flared but the edge is not rolled. I guess on the plus side, a rolled edge could trap some food in but then if I can't see it and it's washed, does it really hurt? The edges don't seem sharp and the gauge of stainless is solid and shouldn't bend with normal use.PROS:Since it's made of 18/10 stainless steel the funnel will hold up with use.The funnel can be useful when used with a small fine kitchen strainer for quickly straining liquids directly into a wide mouth container. The wide neck of the funnel makes transferring thick liquids (sauces or jams) directly into jars or other narrow mouth containers easy.CONS:None so far.

Worth the money
I thought it was a little expensive but once I received it, I knew it was worth the price! It's heavy duty and wonderful quality.

Beautiful to look at & nice quality!
I love this product. It’s very sturdy & I recommend it. The strainer moves sometimes when you pour in it. I highly recommend this product. No more buying cheese cloths and squeezing the cloth. Now, there’s no mess involved!

A Perfect Fit
I bought six of these to help in straining Maple Sap during the Maple Syrup making process.I also bought six small stainless steel Milk Cans, to hang from the TAPS or SPILES on the Maple Trees, to collect the sap.I put the funnel into the opening of the Milk Can, after I have taken the lid off of course, and the sap drips through the sieve or filter, that is in the bottom of the funnel. The sieve fits perfectly in the bottom of the funnel, and that is essential, because if the sieve didn't fit, debris would enter the Milk Can, and the funnel with the sieve is the very reason I bought the funnels in the first place. The sieve itself is a fine mesh, so it can filter out very small particles. A lot of fine craftsmanship went into the making of these funnels. The fit of the sieve is not sloppy or loose in any way. It is machined like a fine automobile!!!! The stainless steel is blemish and scratch free, shiny and perfect, and all six funnels arrived in PERFECT condition. They took a while to get to me here, in Ontario, but are worth the wait. I would definitely highly recommend!
