Fantastic for a 1987 Chevrolet Astro Van, in my case a RWD camper. It's all but impossible to find load-adjusting shocks for a front axle, much less tweakable ones. I've been "Astro" my entire adult life and with added cowl weight or engine compartment weight in these are a life saver! Quiet, improved handling, stability, ride height, traction, easy to install if you lift the front high enough to get the shock through the control arm slot from the bottom. These fit inside the coil spring very well and add life to motor mounts. Braking is even better in my case. My only recommendation is Grade 8's or 10's over the supplied hardware. Also, since I use them in a modified application, I make a couple of slight modifications as photographed. Note: Although shock length and diameter is the same as OEM, load carrier shocks are all but impossible to compress by hand after the hand-tight top nut is installed. Rather than compressing the shock bottom with a jack and having zero clearance for the bottom eye bolts, it's easier to start with two long bolts to snug it up. Then, remove one at a time and replace with your short bolts. In conclusion, these shocks are FANTASTIC, especially considering the price and performance!

I installed these and about 10000kms later they blew out all the oil, total junk!
