Went Through the Washer - AND Dryer
- and survived! It wasn't exactly pristine, but all the pages were intact, none of the writing had been lost, and I could still use it for notes. **It's an excellent size for my purposes. Fits in my back or side pockets. Pencil didn't tear wet paper. Doesn't erase very well. The paper is thick and kind of greenish. I like that, because sometimes white paper can be blinding in the sun. The orange cover is bright enough to find in the in the densest weeds or the most cluttered living room.** (Until I dropped it in the river a couple of hours later. It's probably still heading downstream so if you find a half-used orange notebook with illegible writing it's probably mine.)

Serves it's purpose. Use = Daily
I have used these notepads daily since the day of its arrival. I started journaling on a notebook that was gifted to me a year prior, I found random and spontaneous use of it with little to any issue. I was later gifted another product from a friend and I was sold. After purchasing these, I find uses in my every day life without fear that the tears of my struggles will wash away the worldly wisdom that graces every lingering word scribed on its green-hued pages. If you need a notepad, get these and think about investing in their pens too. They do not write well but it feels nice holding a metal pen specifically made for the paper you are writing upon, of which, both are made to resist water which can be useful in many settings.

Works as advertised
The water does infact beed right off the pepper. I even put a piece under the faucet for several minutes just to test it and it came out perfectly intact with the ink still on it.

Good for field notes.
Performs well for taking notes in the field. Pages can be a little difficult to write on with some pens however.

Perfect for the field
I started using Rite in the Rain products in 2011 while serving with the United States Marine Corps. Fast forward to over a decade and I’m still using their products while working as a first responder. I love that they have multiple sized notepads and I have found this one is perfect to fit in my back pocket. The notepad is large enough to hold on to easily and has enough space for lengthy notes. The tough and thick material of the plastic outer portion, along with the thick pages, handle well while in pocket. The notepads withstands being sat on, manipulated whether in my hand or just the constant movement, and even during the summers when I’m sweating. As mentioned in the details of the notepad, it’s made to be used in the rain. I can say I’ve sweat on the pages and I’ve used while in the rain and have NEVER had an issue with smearing or the pages falling apart like normal paper. I don’t use a rite in the rain pen, any normal pen has been fine for me.

Rite In The Rain - The Name Says It All
Great product. If you need to write in inclement weather or in anything other than dry conditions then this is the product for you. You definitely get what you pay for with their products. The product is well made and functions as advertised. The 4" X 6" size seems to fit me a little better than the 3" X 5". I can and do recommend this product.

This never happens to me (hardly ever)
My daughter is in ROTC at Princeton and we often spend hours gravely trying to find items which are so novel or outraeously well-made that they strike terror into the very concept of the merely cheap or un-considered. Inevitably we sort out everything that is not a so-called "heritage" brand. Heritage brands must be at least 75 years old. They must be authentic to their past and do something so well they are unrivalled. My daughter and I have made many discoveries in every area from French shoe creme to botanical colognes to canvas-sided luggage. Perhaps our most deightful recent acquisition has been these Rite in the Rain notebooks. There is something comforting and final about them. They are indelible and you can just wipe blood right off them. Or sweat. Or mud. These notebooks last longer than most marriages. They are also sized a bit larger than other pocket notebooks, with thick, lined pages and sturdy backs to balance on your knee as you draw Hooded Merganzers. They can be ordered in various colors for sorting, though with a daughter in ROTC I will never use anything but military green. I found another use for the Rite in the Rain waterproof notebooks. I am a professionl poet (no one knows it) and I can often just doodle down poems while my other daughter studies nearby. Naturally I have converted HER to the Rite in the Rain family, also, thus carrying on the heritage.
