The music from 'The Virgin Suicides' is really beautiful. If one band manages to put together instrumental harmonies with well-placed and well-played synths, from time to time adding lyrics as well, it is Air.And 'The Virgin Suicides' is the band's best release, which demands a lot! The main theme is repeated exactly on the spots of the CD where you long to hear it again.Beautifully introduced with 'Playground Love', sung by Gordon Tracks, and ending in the somber 'Suicide Underground' which will bring back memories to those who have seen this poetically sad film.A masterpiece. And I was never even a fan of electronic music before. Then came Air.Truly a masterpiece...

It's much more than a mere movie soundtrack, although Ms Coppola knew damn well what she was doing picking these guys to score the movie. It's got great texture, mood and energy, and stands alone as well as it does in complement to the movie. I just wish the band would perform more of the tracks in their live show, they're so good.If you're a casual Air fan or a completist, this should be right up there with Moon Safari with your purchases.

Listening to this soundtrack without seeing the film first will definetly entice you to see this go and view this beauty. Air have out done themselves again by producing amazing electronic harmonies that let you drift your way through life in the mellowist of ways. Sit back and let this masterpiece take control of you hectic life. If you ever feel really uptight, your solution...... listen to this soundtrack!

While im not exactly sure what they are charging for this album, i may be helpful. the only difference, between this (i belive japanese)import and the normal soundtrack, is two tracks. On the Positive end of it, the last track is a neat version of playground love on it. I dont know who does it but its got like a mariba doing the role of the hypno-monotony. The version of bathroom girl, on the otherhand id worthless. so its simply a question of economics, how much is the price difference? and are you willing to pay it for one good track, or are you just buying the intrinsic kewl factor of an import. Hmmmnn i can only assume you know about air, if not its only a couple clicks away

Everything is right about this movie - the script, the direction, the casting, the acting, the editing, but most of all, the original score by Air. Well worth repeat viewing.

An outstanding soundtrack to a great, great film. But film or not, this album is just breathtakingly gorgeous (and polished). A must have.
