nice solid piece, ideal size for bookshelf or side table
probably not everyone's personal choice but for an 8th anniversary present this was perfect for us. one of our favorite wedding photos is of me holding an umbrella for my bride after the ceremony...so, perfect for us.solid base with felt liner to prevent scratching. the weight is fairly heavy for its size So I assume it is a solid casting but cannot see inside to confirm. while the listing didnt list exact dimensions it is probably 8 1/2"-20" once assembled (simply attaching the umbrella to post). nice detail to the surface finish of the piece as well.Liked it enough after it was received , I went back to buy another piece from Dayna B.'s work.one note on packaging. it is inside cardboard boxing with no padding.. despite being dual boxed it broke the packaging during shipping, causing the umbrella post and mans head to protrude from both boxes and be exposed. luckily there was no scratching severe damage.The umbrella post had a very slight bend to it but I cannot say if that is something in design or due to lack of packaging/handling appropriate to the piece.

A great item! This made a wonderful gift for my parents that was well-received. It appears to be great quality and will be around for years to come! great value for the price. very happy with this.

Very pleased.
It's just a little smaller than I expected but I'm very pleased. It's well made, has a nice base, and is heavy! The packaging was more than I expected after reading a previous review. Nothing bent either.
