Trend 3" Fine & Coarse Diamond Credit Card Stone, DWS/CC/FC

This thing really works well. I saw someone using this on YouTube for sharpening there with turning tools and this is like 1/10 to cost of all the equipment you need to sharpen the tools and much quicker and easier way so I decided to try it. I got to say I'm impressed it really does work well it's small it's easy to handle it's easy to use and it even works on the carbide tungsten tools. I invested over $300 in a bench grinder and diamond wheels and a jig to set up the tools and now I got to say that I should return all that and just keep this little card.

This hone often produces a better burr than my CBN wheels. It seems the lapping fluid is unnecessary. Also, it is nice and stiff.

this stone with some Windex keeps every bit and knife on my shaper/planter/jointer in top cutting condition, excellent quality for the price and the 600 grit is perfect for putting a nice sharp edge on the cutters.

I carry this in my day bag. Recommend. For the weight and size, it's the best I've found. Price is absurdly high, though. If you just want a sharpening stone for your toolbox, there are much cheaper ones to be had.

I have been making routed signs for almost 30 years. When my bits got dull, I would drop them off at a local sharpening service. At $7.50 per bit, less than half of them were machined properly. Eventually, I resorted to giving them away or selling them on eBay. Just by chance, a customer who happened to be a professional woodworker told me about the Trend stone. I ordered one, thinking I had nothing to lose but a few bucks if it didn't work. The product arrived super quick and I immediately went to the workshop to give it a try. The results are amazing! Four or 5 passes on each side of my Freud V-groove bit gave me edges sharper that new...unbelievable! I would even recommend using this stone on new bits- carbide on the 600 side and HSS on the 300 side. Make sure you get the lapping fluid and the cleaning block with the stone. I promise you will not be sorry. I use to spend at least $600.00 a year on V-bits. Not any more!

These cards are so useful and the 300/600 grit combo is perfect for touching up various tools. Like all diamond sharpening plates they need breaking in to get the best performance out of them though. They get better the more you use them. Definitely recommend these Trend cards.

A Dental Hygienist here, this is as good as any Hu-Friedy/PDT sharpening stone I've used. I love the weight and shape. Is between a fine/medium grit. A few quick passes over the instrument and you'll have a nice sharp edge. Ordered one for each hygiene kit. Sterilizes very well. One for at home to keep my paring knives sharp too! Would be great for hobbyists.
