I am happy with the lights themselves
These lights are bright and do not draw much current - typical for LED lights. I am happy with the lights themselves. I installed them as spreader lights on my boat, used exclusively in salt water. The mounting brackets came separate in the box and were a little tricky to install on the light housing - no big deal. They have been installed on my boat for a few months and a few trips offshore and the thin metal mounting brackets are beginning to rust at the edges. they are white painted/powder coated steel and they do not really seem suited for saltwater environment. I plant to make replacement brackets from stainless or aluminum and install them. For the price this is a great light but it needs some upgraded parts if you intend to use it in saltwater. If you want a light for a fresh water boat or for a land vehicle they would be great. If I had it to do over again I would buy the same lights but fabricate upgraded brackets when I installed them the first time.

Super Bright
We bought these lights to use as docking lights on our Pontoon Boat. They are super bright and several of ourfriends have commented on how sleek and nice they are. We bought some other lights from a boat place on line and when received one of the 2 lights was defective. Returned, reordered same problem so we returned and ordered these. So glad we did. These were 1/2 the price and much nicer looking.

Great Value
Great value. Needs work, however, to make this light marine ready. When you get these lights, the first thing you should do is seal them. I seriously doubt the water proof rating in factory condition. Add some marine sealant to the port where the power plug goes into the casing and seal around the lens. No big deal, takes under 5 minutes for each lamp. I also painted the bracket white, so it will look better. Other than that, installation is pretty straightforward. Brings all the hardware you need.At this price, you will not find a better deal. I would order these again in a heartbeat, even though they do require some work to make them marine ready.

Great lights without a doubt.
Product just great, I bought and just installed two of them and was totally surprise by the brightness, the produce seems very strong and well built, I will put silicone where the cable comes in as suggested by someone else, they uses a lot less power than my old lights, now I'm sorry I did not order a third one I would have added it as an extra light. Great buy would be hard to beat for the price, some units in marine stores look almost identical and sell for 5 times the price. Hopefully the seller can keep providing this product.

These are NOT 18W lamps
I cannot comment on how watertight these may be, nor can I comment on their long term reliability. I can say that they seem reasonably well put put together and subjectively, they are pretty bright for a 15-18 dollar light. However, what I can say unequivocally is that these lamps are not 18W as advertised. I fired one of these up with a bench power supply that has current readout and was surprised to see that these lamps (or at least the specific ones that were shipped to me) only draw about 9.6 W in the range of voltages you are likely to see in a 12v electrical system (11v-13.8v). Assuming 10% power loss in the regulator (this is a good middle of the road efficiency estimate for a switching regulator), that means that the power delivered to the LEDs is closer to 8.6W.My original intent was to see what the minimum operating voltage was. As illustrated in the attached graph, at 8v the LEDs are lit but you get almost nothing out of them. You get a little less than 50% of the max output at 10v and by 11v you are at about 90%. It is pretty clear from the graph that the internal regulator does not really start to "regulate" until about 12v. However, the light remains usable down to voltages you would not see until your 12v battery is wicked dead. So that's nice.In conclusion, you will have to decide for yourself whether this lamp is worth the money. However, when you are doing so, you should be aware that these lamps are only half as powerful as advertised.Update: this review has been up for a couple years now. It has the second most helpful votes of all of the reviews but it doesn't even show up in the review list when sorted by most helpful. Interestingly, all of the most helpful reviews are 5 star reviews. I guess I misunderstood what "most helpful" meant. I thought it meant most helpful to potential buyers. Clearly what is really means is most helpful to get other people to buy it. Consider that next time you read the first 5 reviews and decide something mist be great.
