French press taste, none of the grit!
This is the French press. I used the regular ones with the mesh screen filter, they work OK. Then tried the ESPRO, the dual screen and silicone seal make your coffee 100% better, by simply preventing the fine grounds from getting into your drink. French press taste, none of the grit. It looks great, easy to clean, easy to use. I use a scale to weigh the water and grounds. There is a line inside the glass to show the fill height, there is a small arrow on the lid to align the pouring screen window. I no longer use my Mochamaster drip coffee maker. If ESPRO came out with an updated model for 2026, and the handle was improved a bit less flimsy, and the lid orientation arrow was a bit easier to see, I'd buy a new one! Be careful with the glass in the dishwasher it's fragile!!

A Good and Simple Product
I just burned through my third big name, high tech integrated grinder/coffee maker, and got totally frustrated at spending hundreds of dollars on appliances that last 1 1/2 years. I opted to try a French Press for its simplicity...no electricity, no motherboard to fail, no grinder to stop grinding, & no high-cost outlay. I chose Espro based upon Wirecutter's recommendation. I was very impressed by its design and functionality. Following the recommended instructions, I brewed very good coffee my first try. I had expected some fiddle factor of experimenting a few times to get it right, but that was not the case. The double filter does everything it is touted to do. I had zero sludge or grit in my pour. If there is anything I didn't like, it is that the clean-up is something of a mess but nothing I'm unwilling to put up with.

Makes a great cup of coffee
Makes a great cup of coffee. Not more than one cup (my fault). No sediment or grounds in the coffee. As with all french presses that I know of, it is a pain to clean the grounds out after pouring your coffee. Would still recommend this press though suggest one consider the P5, P6 or P7 models.

Yummy
Double Micro-Filter for a grit free brew works almost too good. I kinda like a little bit of sediment in my coffee for a more robust flavor. I guess that's good for those of you that don't. I like how easily it cleans up and it does make a very good cup of coffee. I went with the stainless model as I read that it comes with a thicker, more durable carafe that also has better heat retention.

Never Going Back!
I bought this French press after doing some research when our French press broke. I thought maybe I'd like to try the pour over method but decided to stick with the French press. This model/make intrigued me due to the double filter AND the optional use of paper filters. When the press arrived I made our first pot of coffee using the paper filter along with the same coffee beans we have been using for decades. I could taste the difference right away! The bitter undertones and acidic undertones were gone! I used a little bit less coffee than recommended and ended up with a weaker pour than I wanted so the next pot I added more coffee and did not use the filter. Immediately I could taste the bitter undertones again, but the coffee tasted good! The next day I increased the amount of coffee and used the paper filter. I made the perfect pot of coffee! After that pot I used the same amount of coffee and the paper filter again ... another pot of great coffee! In conclusion, after decades of trying to make a consistently great pot of coffee I finally am able to do so! The coffee I make now is consistently smooth, bitter free and less acidic. We will never go back to traditional French presses! The paper filter and double mesh filters make ALL the difference in the world for consistently great coffee! Another bonus - the carafe comes free from the handle/holder so clean up is a breeze.

Holy hell this is makes the best cup of coffee
I had to come back to update my previous review. I took 2 stars away because of the amoubt of coffee this press makes vs others. The double basket is so large (deep) it takes up the space of a single cup of coffee. You can only fill it up, at most, less than 3/4 of the way feom the top. Otherwise, when putting in the press, the coffee and grounds spit out everywhere. I went from 3-4 cups of coffee, to share, to only 2 cups of coffee. When taking out the press, it will stick at the lip of the glass and will shoot grounds everywhere, making a huge mess. I don't use a lot of grounds in my press, so I wouldn't expect this hassle. Still makes a wonderful cup of coffee, just not as impressive as most claim it is. (Previous review) I have been using your basic run of the mill French press. It would spill with every poor, coffee grounds would stick to the sides of the glass, and would pour grounds of coffee into my cup. I thought my coffee was good, but the moment I used this press and then drank my coffee, I knew I made the right decision. The coffee doesn't stick to the sides of the glass if the press, it does not spill one drop when pouring, and the flavor of my coffee...Holy hell, it is amazing. I had no idea there was more flavor to my coffee. I saw this press in an article about the best French presses. It was on sale and I thought, why not. I am so happy I made this purchase. It works beautifully, holds 3 cups of coffee, and for $40, who can complain?! The one tip I never thought of was to turn the lid with the spout around to the back to keep the coffee/tea warm. You turn the spout to pour and turn it back to keep in the heat and freshness. I love this and am so happy.
