I checked into a bunch of different steps and read alot of reviews before deciding to try these. And i wanted to use them for a bit before writing my review. We've now used them for over a month and they are pretty decent steps, I'm very happy with them. The steps seem solid under my plus size weight. They were very easy to put together, took us maybe 10 minutes. I wanted more water flow thru them to try reducing mold build up on the underside, so we didn't put all the wall pieces under each step, i left it more open. And the steps still feel very solid without those pieces. I will say, trying to put the steps into the water was comical. From reading other reviews, i knew we needed to get some weights to hold them in place, but i underestimated how much weight we needed. We ended up getting some of those super sturdy, black storage bins and filled them with bricks. We zip tied one to each side of the steps and one onto the back bar underneath the steps. Plenty of weight is the key! When we close the pool for the winter, we will simply cut the zip ties to release the weight so we can lift the steps out. The one thing i don't like is the wing things that slide down onto the handles for attaching the steps to the deck. They are about an inch thick, but hollow, and have just 1 hole towards the end for a nail or screw. It just doesn't seem sturdy to me. I put alot of thought into this because our pool is about 2 inches higher than our deck, so we would need to nail a board to the deck to make it level with the wings over the pool rim. I didn't like the idea of having a board right at the steps to stub toes on. But my biggest issue is that the 1 hole in the hollow plastic just doesn't seem like it would hold up very long. When you're climbing up out of the water, that's alot of weight being pulled on that 1 nail in a piece of plastic. We ended up removing the wings and tying rope around the handles and attaching it to hooks we put on the underside of the deck. No boards to stub toes on and no holes in the deck. You don't really have to secure these steps to the deck if you have enough weight holding them in place. They felt a little bit wobbly with the water flowing around them before we attached them with the rope, but were fine to use. But now that we figured out how we wanted to attach them to the deck, they feel much sturdier. I would recommend them for the ease of getting in and out of the pool. They are wide enough to move between the handles easily, and i can even sit down comfortably on the steps if I want to just sit in the water. I would recommend these steps for anyone who doesn't like dealing with that standard pool ladder - elderly, plus size, small kids, anyone.

Great set of steps. Get the weights, the stairs do float.

Sturdy and durable steps. They are wide and deep enough for a solid step in or out of the pool. The rails are flimsy if you use them to get out. It needs to be weighted down. I filled with sand per the instructions. Another option is to buy the weights that are designed to work with these steps.

Excellent stairs except when looking for replacement parts. Easy to put together, perfect for above ground pool. Handrail leg broke and I can't find a replacement.

I’d give a 4.5 but it didn’t give the 1/2 option. As others have said the bars are a little Jenky and pop out. But that’s nothing a little strip of gorilla glue or a screw won’t fix. The steps are nice and wide and big so if I just want to sit on the top step I can. The steps are a little longer so for little legs it could be a big step down. And that last step is. Shocker in cold water lol. It I would certainly buy again. And company delivers super fast! A+
