Lee Precision Shotshell Reloading Press 20 GA Load All II

Great basic single stage reloader that's versatile.

I am new to reloading and picked this up about two months ago. I was looking for a press I could set up once for a target load both my wife and I shoot. Unsure if I would like reloading I didn't want to spend tons on press, and really I just need something simple that you set once.The Lee is great for my use. I've loaded about 600 shells to date and can fill a box without rushing in about 12 minutes. I regularly weigh the powder and shot thrown to make sure something isn't off and have had only consistent results.The one modification I've had to make was for a 3/4oz load. The smallest bushing that comes with the 20g press is 7/8. To get to 3/4 I cut a shell hull and put it inside a busing making the volume it could hold smaller. I started with alot of hull in the bushing and kept testing and shaving off more until it was throwing 3/4 oz. It wasn't very hard and it consistently throws 3/4 oz now.The one thing I will say about the Lee is that bushing adjustments or changes can be a pain. You either need to detach the press from your bench and try to pour out the powder while covering the shot and vice versa, or keep cycling the charge bar while catching the powder in one cup and shot in another. For my purposes this isn't an issue because I only want to use the press for one recipe. To set up the press with my recipe I put only a load or two of materials in the hoppers so I could make adjustments relatively easily.If your a hardcore reloader who loads a variety of hunting loads - this probably isn't the press for you.If you want a target load press to set once and pound the rounds out on, the Lee will do you well.

Bought this for my grandson to reload his 20 guage shells. Easy set up, easy to use. He whipped out a full box with factory looking crimps in very little time. I own a progressive of another brand that i love so was sceptical about this press. Yes it's a little slower but loves it and we get more time together. Thre grandson was leary as it is made out of plastic but was smiling after putting the easily changed bushings in, mounting it to the bench, filling it with shot and powder then whipping out 25 rounds with NO issues. His first time reloading.

It's NOT A MEC but with a little tweeking will get you going.

This is just a quick review as I have only reloaded about 350 rounds on it so far.First the Pros:It is the most reasonably priced reloader.It is a complete solution. With the exception of a primer feed there is no need to go out and buy options. I have the primer feed, but I am not using it yet. I just haven’t had the time to set it up.The unit works reasonably well unless you need to pump out a lot of shells quickly.Lee support is quick and gets things done. My primer removal stage was cocked right out of the box. It worked but I was worried it might damage the shells. I sent a couple of pictures via email to Lee. Within 3 hours I had a response that the part couldn’t be adjusted and they sent out a replacement, which arrived within 3 days.The Cons:Most of the cons that follow are due to the price of the unit… you truly do get what you pay for.There is no easy way to change powder or shot due to the design of the unit. It can be lifted off the stem and emptied, but you need to hold a card or cover over the opposite hopper. This same issue makes it difficult to change out the bushings. If your powder bushing is dropping a heavy or light charge you need to empty the hopper to change it out without making a mess.Another issue I have had is the unit binding as I slide the handle to drop the shot charge. I sometimes have to work it back and forth before it actually slides properly. When it does slide I have also had the shot not drop. It happens about once every 25 rounds. I initially was trying to slide it back to drop the shot but then I got a mixed charge of shot and powder. I finally realized that I could just tap on the unit and the shot would just drop in. I found that the shot issues happened more frequently if the hopper was more than 2/3 full.Removing spent primers would be easier if the unit had a drawer that could be emptied.The conversion to a second size such as 12 to 20 gauge is painful enough that I would say to spend a few extra dollars and just buy a second unit.Conclusion:The unit functions as advertised. To say you could get a hundred rounds in an hour is a stretch. I work to get a good 75. I could get a few more but it would be pushing it. If you only load one setup the unit can be set and just used over and over again. If you have needs for multiple types of rounds I would not recommend this unit. I trap shoot on weekends and always use the same load so it works for me. I will probably load about 200 rounds each week. Ultimately, I might go with a progressive reloader, but for now I am satisfied with my purchase. If you need to reload more than what I am doing get a better unit. Would I buy this unit again knowing what I now know… Yes

A favorite of mine for reloading my 20 gauge.

When I first received mine I was very disappointed. Even though I'm new to reloading, it looked so simplebut when I started trying to reload, I ruined 20 hull the crimping process was really messed up. Even if Igot a good preliminary crimp, I would ruin the hull in final crimp.Even for a beginner I was thinking something is not right here. So I asked for return and reorder of same model. When the second one came in, I had a little time that day to run a few thru it. Your guessed it10 for 10 no issues near perfect reloads. So I am very happy that it does what it's suppose to do.I even let my 11 year old grandson reload a few and he got 6 for 6 near perfect reloads. So overall Iam now completely satisfied with the LEE Load All 2. Definitely recommend. It will do the job.For first times users there are videos on Youtube very simple

Easy to use. With the lack of availability of 20 gauge shells for purchase I decided to load my own.
