The comfiest chair I have owned
The open-box herman miller was authentic, came in two pieces for easy assembly and was packaged well so that there was no damage through shipping. It is about half of the price of the new herman miller, however there is a caveat that this version of the aeron was last produced in 2016 by HM themselves. This means that it is definitely a used 5+ old chair. It is a darn good thing HM chairs are supposed to have a lifespan of 15 years. As a reference for the previous chair I bought in 2019, it was an Amazon ergonomic mesh chair, similar to this one for $300. It is now falling apart. The tilt is too far back, thigh cushion at the front of the seat came undone, and none of the levers are connected. It was done in 3 years. After working, I would sometimes have to lay down or get walking outside to work out the kinks and knots that were gathered from sitting in the chair and WFH all day. This chair is so comfy that I don't think about it. You aren't only buying a chair, if it is the right fit it feels like buying peace of mind. This chair allowed me to work some crunch time hours and didn't even think twice about my chair/discomfort. In my previous chair, my back would hurt after a day of working from home. The winter time weather also kept me indoors, which made me use my computer...and sit in my chair a lot more. (4/1/22) I will update this review as I use the chair if anything goes awry. So far it has been the best chair I have ever sat in for extended periods of time. Hopefully, this chair lasts me many many years.

Look elsewhere if you want a nice headrest and support
Great refurb chair. I went with those one because it included a headrest and lumbar support. Shipping was quick and the box was double layeree to protect the chair. I overpaid for cheap plastic. The coat hanger is all but useless. The headrest wobbles around and does t like to hold it's position. The lumbar support isn't the adjustable type found on other models. I'm thankful for free return shipping.

Back Saver - Good Value - Good Seller
It was with weeks of research that I finally decided to pull the trigger on a used Herman Miller on Amazon. Part of the reason I bought from Amazon was the ability to use gift cards I already had. The chair was described as "fully loaded" and it seems to do all of the basic features, I've seen videos with at least one other adjustment that this chair does not have. I wish "fully loaded" had been described better, but I'm not claiming to be an expert on Herman Miller so I won't count that against the seller. It did not have the upgraded lumbar support, but it also didn't necessarily claim to. "Fully Loaded" is a matter of interpretation, I guess. The chair arrived via FedEx Ground. Delivery window was quoted March 3-11th and it arrived March 10th. It spent about a week at the "label created" phase but again, the chair arrived on time. It was mostly assembled, all I had to do was screw the back on, not difficult. The screws and alan wrench and instructions were all included and easy to access. I watched a few YouTube assembly videos to be sure I was doing everything right. The chair is incredibly comfortable, not in a plush way, but in a 'supports you in all the right ways' way. It takes some time to adjust it for your individual body and sitting style. I'm still fiddling with it, but yesterday was the first day in a long time where I was able to sit/work all day and not be in excruciating pain at the end of the day. This chair sits you upright as well as it rocks you back. I need to be able to rock back to shift the weight off my spine, this chair is the gold standard for a reason. I also purchased an after market headrest from Atlas. Look at YouTube videos for reviews on this headrest. It was designed by a Herman Miller engineer, attaches easily, and has the exact same mesh fabric as the chair. It's an exact match (which was important to me) My previous objection to the Aeron was the lack of a headrest - this addition makes it the perfect chair for me. Note that this chair is the "Classic Aeron" (which isn't made anymore) but the condition was good and I don't regret the investment at all.

Not "Open Box" also headrest is aftermarket.
The Chair is in excellent condition. If some of the decals on the knobs and whatnot weren't half worn off and the left armrest didn't have way too much play in it, I'd swear it was an "open box" item. Came very well packaged and in working order. Assembly was as simple as attaching the back with four bolts with the supplied allen key, and then putting the aftermarket headrest on, this requires a phillips head screwdriver and the screw is very cheap. The headrest also pops and creaks and is just cheap feeling. Everything else about the chair is damn near perfect. At the price I'm not dissatisfied. Comfort wise the Aeron lives up to it's reputation. Also understand that buyer pays return shipping plus 15% restocking fee if the item returned is damaged or in any other condition than shipped.
