I currently have the vive pro. the lighthouses and controllers are identical, correct? should i be purchasing the headset by itself?

Vive pro 2 headsets are fully compatible with base station 2.0 and controller 2.0 from the vive pro 1, but they are also compatible with the 1.0 base stations and 1.0 controllers as well. So if you have ANY vive equipment it will work with the vive pro 2 headset. We have 5 of them in our VR arcade and they work great.

can it play steam games?

Yes. In fact the base stations for the valves headset are cross compatible

Can one pc run 2 of these?

No. This HMD is very taxing on your PC. I have a monster setup running 2 high end graphics cards (2080TI) x2 and I would have no chance. Even if this was a low end headset, a PC is just not able to keep up With the graphic workload it would take to run them.

Does the system draw power from the pc, my rig only has a 550 mw power supply and is somehow running a 3070gpu?

It has its own power supply. It does draw a little power through the usb but not to power the displays so it’s minimal as it is for a keyboard or mouse. You should be fine. That being said, the display cables take a beating and don’t last too long. Be prepared to replace unless you go wireless. But wireless battery only last about 2 hours. Just a heads up.
