Great Simple Communication Device
I LOVE this product!! I originally purchased this product for one of my nonverbal students in my special education class to see if this would help him. He loved it and was excited to use it. He would insist on taking it everywhere and would put it in his pocket. The yes and no options are the most helpful. The price was also awesome! He had previously had another device for communication purposes but would often throw it or go to other apps. This device he can throw but it doesn't easily break and even if it did we are not out hundreds of dollars. The only negatives are, the buttons are somewhat hard to push for some students and some of the choices are not necessarily applicable in the school setting such as tv. Overall, a great product. I could see this as a great device to throw in a purse/pocket/etc when taking a child that was nonverbal to the store/park/party instead of taking a larger device that maybe bulky and draw unwanted attention (by the child). I would recommend this to any parent or instructor and did in a Grad school class that I was taking and a staff meeting.

Impressed! Great for home or school!
Great little device! Has every response you need regularly as a teacher or for home. I love it! It is definitely tiny though so don't expect a big device. It's perfect size for little kids but the buttons are large enough for older kids to use and see well. I'm super impressed for the price! If you teach sped u know how much $ communication devices cost!

Requires a lot of pressure to activate the tiny buttons
The concept for this device is amazing but it didn't work for our 8 year old child. This is exactly like the buttons used in interactive story books, but much smaller. The squares are tiny. Unfortunately they also require a lot of pressure to activate. Many non-verbal children also have poor motor skills making this device too hard to use. Even I found the buttons hard to push to activate. I will ask my child's OT to work on using interactive story books so she can build up her ability to use this device, but for now it will not work for us. Another thing to keep in mind is the button size. The description says they are large buttons, but they are a little under 3/4 of an inch each. If possible I will need to return the device. Concept is 5 stars Reality is 3 stars due to amount of pressure required to activate it.

Nice voice output
Purchased for my daughter who is almost 3. She has motor skills difficulties so this is a bit hard to use, the boxes are smallish and there are a lot of them. It’s easy to press the wrong one. For a child w/ good motor skills this would be a good addition to a communication system. It has good voice output & volume with a nice child’s voice. I did feel the icons used were a bit odd, for example “all done” and “help”. The other issue is language/ verbage. For ex. the icon w/ a girl eating outputs: “I’m hungry”, whereas I was thinking of teaching “Eat/Food or I want to eat/ I want food”. The buttons say: I’m sorry Television More I want to play I’m thirsty I’m hungry No Yes Help Hurt All done Bathroom The “hurt” sounded like HOT at first- everyone thought so- but I noticed one day that, from a distance away, it did sound like “hurt” afterall. It would be nice to be able to switch out the icons if you wanted or even better re-record them. Nice tool though with some basic essentials. I disagree w/ another reviewer that this needs please & thank you. Those are words that have the least amount of return for effort that it takes kids to master them. Those should be taught last!

great product and excellent price point
great product and excellent price point. I'm a pediatric speech pathologist and love having this to use as a tool for patients and demonstrate for parents. I also like being able to recommend a product that is affordable. There are limitations to it of course, but overall I find it very versatile and easy to use
