Easy to use and effective
I don't know I didn't think of looking for a product like this a year ago. I have several little dogs and I don't which one of them or it might be more than one who refuses to stop soiling and peeing in a corner of my living room (thank god it's a high end vinyl floor so now warping or damage) and it has been driving me crazy. Nothing works to deter them, none of the sprays, chastizing, NOTHING except belly bands but that still doesn't stop the pooping, and now they have been tagging the Christmas tree skirt! Well, I had a motion sensor activated Christmas Radio and placed it near the area and I noticed it scared them off and I thoght, I bet Amazon has some motion activated alarms, and I found these. Imagine how shocked they are to hear Mommy's voice yelling at them by NAME to "Get OUT OF THERE" as they go snooping in the Tree area. I can finally take down the dog gates I had to errect around the tree. In fact, I had to link several gates and gate off half of the living room, it's was ridiculous. It's annoying a bit to hear these things go off all every time someone walks by as they really do have a large range, but I am hopeful that these are finally going to train their little walnut sized brains to stay out of those areas. Dogs learn by repetition and this is a painless way to train train them. I just wish I could plug them into the wall and not have to use batteries but they are still worth it. The range on these is so good, that they would even chase them out of a room completely if you want to keep a pet out of a room and forget to close the door.

Great! Can customize!
I feed squirrels and birds in my used. The squirrels were getting into my potted plants and tearing them up. I didn't want to hurt them or send them away permanently just keep them out of the potted plants. I found this little treasure. It is great. Throw in a coupl batteries, record what ever you want and presto! Plant security. I of course dressed mine up as a viking. Im not sure if that increased its effectiveness, but, it was fun and looks pretty tough! .. Well to a squirrel anyways. I glued sticks on so i could put in my plants. I tested its sensitivity and i is surprisingly good. You could easily put a plastic bag over this for garden security. Not overly sensitive either, so that viking yell doesn't go off 50x before 7am. I mean we all love the immigrant song but maybe not like that. I Didn't want to annoy my neighbors. It has 2 levels loud and louder. But it isn't over kill for my use. All that with the fact you can customize the front with a sharpie or eyeliner pencil and get some crazy fun faces! Im digging it! Don't know what you might need it for but I think it's awesome. Sound is clear and it works!

Cool Device
This is a fantastic motion detector. I am a hard sleeper, and it wakes me right up. You just hold the record button and put whatever you want to say on the device. Don't hold this up close to your mouth when recording, or it will be really loud and distorted. Hold it away from you and lower the volume of your voice and then make your recording. It has two audio levels, low and high. It is more like loud and louder. So in order to compensate for that, lower your voice when making the recording and hold it away from your mouth. I only turn it on at night, and it detects motion at night. It has never just randomly gone off. Another thing that worked really well for me, I didn't mount it. I sat it on the shelf and adjusted it so I didn't set it off, once I was in bed. A friend of mine walked into my room and it went off, and it scared them. That is exactly what I want it for, to get my attention and hopefully scare a person away.

It’s loud and works as advertise in a fair price
This item is cheap and it does exactly what I wanna do. I live in the mountains in a cabin and the bears come every once in a while they’re not afraid of anything, but my car along that scares a living daylights out of them so I recorded my loud car along and put it on this device and it sounds just like my car along. I haven’t tested it to see if it’ll work with the bears. I won’t turn it on all the time cause I don’t want to scare the deer away, but it looks like it’s gonna work. I highly recommend this at least for what I’m bought it for.

Great for Alzheimer's patient
I had a problem with my husband who has Alzheimer's peeing all over the bathroom floor. He'd try but completely miss the toilet all the time. It was getting to the point where I was cleaning the bathroom numerous times a day. Disposable pads on the floor didn't work because it was going on the walls as well and I didn't want to start lining my floor and walls with pads. It would get ridiculously expensive and disgusting. I first tired this to put beside the toilet to tell him to "sit down when you pee". Fortunately, he listens when I tell him to do something and can follow instructions. It won't work for a patient who doesn't. That worked fine except even on low it's quite loud and woke me up during the night. And it caused other problems as he thought he had to do more than just pee. So I ended up with a "Potty Protector" and still used this device as well. I put it next to the toilet and whispered into it to "leave that on when you pee" because sometimes he'd take the protector off. I whispered because even that is pretty loud lwhen played back on low. Then I held down the record button for the full 2 minutes of recording time after recording the message and just let it record silence. That way he had ample time to finish up what he was doing and leave the bathroom before it went off again. It has a very good sensor. Which ended up being a problem because just walking in from of the bathroom door in the bedroom set it off. And it wasn't facing straight out. It was sideways to the door. So I took a piece of cardstock, cut it to fit, and made a little shield around the side so it wouldn't pick up motion until you were near the toilet. So far it's working fine. I hope my experience gives someone with the same problem ideas on how to deal with their own.

Not realistic
Don't think this will fool a person into believe a mean dog is behind that door. It's fun - but i could only get growling to sound sort of realistic. No way does barking sound real - way too cheap of a speaker.
