I bought this set for my daughter to learn to knit. She tried to learn on my metal needles and they were too slippery. The acrylic provides more friction with the yarn so she's not afraid of dropping stitches. The molds for the needles are pretty good, but there is a seam that runs the length of the needle that you can feel. The seam doesn't snag on the yarn, but the needles just are not completely smooth and round when you touch them. The bright colors and the cute case all make it more fun for her to keep knitting. The sizes are embossed at the top nub of the needles, so you can easily find the right size.For veteran knitters, this is probably not a good set as the friction is too high and slows you down when you need to push stitches down the needles. I've used metal, bamboo and plastic (Lion Brand) needles and can knit fairly fast with all of them because they are smoother and have less friction than acrylic. It would probably be fine for narrow projects, but gets frustrating for wider projects because of the "sticky" nature of acrylic.

I purchased these needles based on the reviews and I thought they might have been great since I think I may still be considered to be in the "beginners" stage. However, although I have only been knitting for about a month, I am getting pretty good at it (minus extreme speed) because I really enjoy it and I my determination has turned it into one of my main hobbies. These needles are a nice color and the larger sizes seem sturdy enough to do a medium to large project on, however, I am not sure I have the same faith in the smaller sizes because they just seem as though they can be prone to breaking since I am more than certain they won't actually bend. They are well made but as another reviewer stated, you can feel the seam on them. I do not think the seam interferes with anything though.... On another note, the reason I am only giving these 4 stars is because I think I may like the feel and ease (in my opinion) of working with aluminum needles better. I actually have a little speed thing going on and could not quite get that that with these. I am keeping them mainly because they are sooooo pretty. I know that every knitter is different, so I would not discourage anyone from not giving these a try, but I just wanted to share my thoughts. They do arrive as descibed and shown in the photo. I hate the color pink, but the foldable storage was actually really nice and there are even extra slots in it for additional needles.

I really like this set of knitting needles. I've tried knitting in the past using the smaller metal needles and never had success. My rows would always end up too tight and then my projects would be very misshapen. I love that there is a variety of sizes in this set. The colorful needles help me to see the yarn better. The wider needles are easier for me to use. I like that the needles are longer, it makes it easier and gives extra room. The case it comes with is very nice, I like that all the sits fit in there perfectly and rolls up to make it easier to put away.

Bought these for a beginning knitter and when I opened them I thought the looked large for the size stamped on the end. I grabbed my sizer and found these run about 3 sizes larger than indicated (e.g. the needles marked a size 8 wouldn't fit in the size 10 hole on my sizer). Also had to use an emery board to smooth out some rough spots on some of the tips.

This needle set is awesome! I was looking for a long needle. Very comfortable for knitting! I was knitting some cushion covers.

These needles are WEAK.First of all, the case is so cheap, one of the ribbons to tie it closed is already coming off and the fabric is weird. It's like one of those cheap reusable bags you get from the supermarket. Second, the tops of the the needles with the gauge size is much smaller than pictured so be careful with the length of your project. Finally, the second day my wife was using it, my toddler daughter snapped one of them in half. Now, my daughter has tried to do that with some of my wife's other needles and has never even broken one. This set isn't worth it.

I got this set of knitting needles to learn how to start knitting. I thought it was perfect because it comes with 2 - 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm knitting needles that are 14 inches long. They all come in a convenient carrying pouch that is easy for me to take to class. Right now I am just learning how to make a knot and chain. I can't wait to make a actual pot holder for the kitchen. This would be a great set for a gift to anyone who is wanting to learn how to knit or already knits.

I bought this set because I am still learning to knit and wanted a more complete set as I explore it. I have two pair of aluminum needles that I prefer but couldn't find a set for a decent price. So i ordered these. Right off the back I notice the smaller needles are really bendy, I feel like I would break them. The larger sizes are bit more sturdy. The needles themselves are also not entirely smooth but I have yet to used them, but I don't think it would be that larger of an issue.I bought this set as more of a starter set for myself, and that's what I would recommend them for. If I turn into a more serious knitter I would eventually switch to an all aluminum set I feel.

Great for my young daughter to learn knitting on, not too heavy. Ok quality, she really liked the roll to hold the needles

I was a little disappointed that they are similar colours and not as indicated in the picture. They do feel flimsy, however haven’t tried yet.
