High quality and well-made
The graphite crucible is pretty large, and has at least 3 cups of volume. Given the purity, the graphite easily gets on my fingers when I touch it, so I'd recommend wearing gloves during handling. It is packaged in a foam and was not chipped when it arrived. It is pretty thick and high quality. Given the thickness, it works well for one or two runs even when oxygen is low.

They ship the Wrong Size
The Pro: The crucible looks solidly made, and has no chips or cracks. It would probably function well. The Con: I ordered a #8 crucible a while back and when I opened it (outside the return window), it wasn't a #8 crucible. I went to the seller's listing and checked the dimensions for their #8 crucible and they matched my existing #8, so I assumed that I had accidentally ordered the wrong one. I ordered another, double checked the dimensions of the #8, made sure that I ordered a #8, double checked it in my cart, double checked it in checkout, and ordered it. Received it today, opened it up and it was the wrong size again. I took it measured it, compared it to the previous one, they matched. Arrgh! I went to the seller's page again and checked the dimensions of the larger crucibles and found a match .... a #12 crucible! I wondered how they could make the same mistake again, so checked the plain cardboard box all over, and I found it. A small white sticker that was labeled CANALHOUT #8. So the boxes in their store room are mislabeled which is why they sent me the same crucible again. I am returning it for a refund since an exchange will only result in getting yet another crucible of the same size. 5 Stars for the crucible, which appeared to be good quality, minus 2 stars for the seller's stocking problem. My guess is that the seller receives crucible shipments from the manufacturer, and trusts that the boxes are properly labeled, I know I did when I ordered it. Because they don't seem to know the problem exists, ordering another is crazy. I ordered the first over a month ago, and still had the same thing happen with my second order. If you order a crucible, when you receive it, immediately check to verify you were shipped the right size. That will require opening and visually verifying the dimensions. The problem is that there is no way to know which crucibles are mislabeled and therefore no way to know what to order. The #8 crucibles are, in my opinion, mislabeled on the part of the manufacturer and not the seller's fault. It is possible that only the #8 crucibles are mislabeled. They look like quality crucibles, I just can't take the chance that the box labeled #8 crucible, is actually a #8.
