Great little Distributive Amp
Works perfectly for small distributive sound system (ceiling speakers) for putting sound in remote locations in a church, school, or meeting facility. Can operate as a stand-alone mixer/amp with its two mic channel imputs or as an auxillary amp to feed your distributive system off of your main mixing console via its auxillary input. Plenty powerful to supply 6-8 full range transformer-matched ceiling speakers tapped at 5 watts on an 8 ohm load. The price is right and the unit performs very well.

Good little amp, limited functionality
Amp works fine. I really like that it drives regular 8ohm as well as 70v speakers. Couple of things that in retrospect would have really made this really nice... 1. All inputs are on the front. Maybe that's what you're looking for--in retrospect, having all the wires stick out on the front is not as nice as having them hidden in the back. 2. We have 2x 8ohm PA speakers that are wired in parallel. this means the effective resistance is 4ohm (wire them in series, and you get 16ohm). Unfortunately, this amp only has an 8ohm output. With 4 speakers, you can wire a series of parallel pairs and get 8ohm, but not with 2 speakers. 3. I wish that some of these low-end amps also had a line out signal.

Working for 5+ months on 70v speakers
I needed an amplifier for a commercial space with 6 ceiling speakers and this has worked perfectly. The back has outputs for different configurations and I've only used the 70v so I can't comment on the others. 70v mono ceiling speakers are never going to sound as good as a nice stereo set up. You lose some sound quality in exchange for being able to connect many speakers together at long distances. I mention that because I'd have blamed the amp if I didn't know. I like the control knobs that allow you to adjust volume, treble, and bass. (turn bass down for a little better quality on 70v) We have had this powered on 24/7 for 5+ months and it has never hiccuped. The bluetooth receiver we connected is another story.

Exactly what we needed! Solid product for an incredibly low price!
The 20 year old Radio Shack PA amp in our retail store shorted out, started smoking and left a wonderful burnt electronics smell in our offices for about 24 hours. So nice! It's amazing that thing lasted as long as it did but the day had finally come for us to replace it. We weren't looking for something incredibly powerful or with hi-fidelity. We just needed something to power four 8-ohm Radio Shack PA horns we've had forever. This 40W Pyle amp worked out perfectly. Installation was quick and easy and performance is much better than our old PA amp. The unit is compact (less than half the size of our old PA amp) and much more powerful. Noone can claim they "didn't hear the page" anymore :) There's aren't a lot of bells and whistles to this PA amp but that's precisely what we wanted. It's a great product at a great price. Hook it up and walk away. Done! Thanks Pyle

Nice amp with 70v tap.
Working well as a PA system at a senior center. The sound level is adequate but I expected more volume since the original amp it replaced was only 10 watts and this is 40 watts. I am using the 70 volt tap. Overall I am happy with the unit and it serves our purpose well.

Be sure you know how to use this before ordering!
This product has a lot of nice features, I guess. Trouble for me was, I was never able to get it to work! I hooked it up as specified in the directions and it didn't work. I tried hooking it up based on my experience and it didn't work. I have never had good luck with 70V systems at any point in my 30+ years experience in audio. So it sits on a desk, mocking me, but serves as a reminder.

Not for upgrading a turntable. Confusing advertisement and setup.
Admittedly I am no expert when it comes to this kind of equipment but I bought this to connect my turntable to an additional 2 speakers instead of just 2. So a total of 4. The slideshow on the product page is kind of misleading to me. It shows the small jack(3.5mm?) being able to be used in the unit. There is actually no input that small. All of the inputs are for microphone/guitar sized cords. Also the way they try to explain setting up the speakers in the rear of the unit safely is confusing. Probably very easy for someone who knows what they're doing. But not a layman like me. I just saw you could connect 4 speakers and the price was very reasonable. Disappointed and returning.

It worked great for a few months then it stopped working and produced intermittent sound.Had to replace the box with the same item. Hopefully this one lasts.
