02 Venus is lovely
Great beans, amazed to see this light of a "light roast". In my 3 bags (all the same roast date), about 50% of the beans were truly light roast with maybe 20 or so burned beans that were super easy to spot and remove prior to grinding.Thick, durable bag. Once transferred to my storage bin, the smell of strawberry and rose is abundant. I've been brewing this in a v60 with the 100ct plastic bagged filters, aiming for a brew time of 3:30-3:45 for 23g coffee to 400g of 85 C water and I've been getting great flavors out of each cup. Grind size wasn't far from normal pour over, I went slightly finer to get my brew time up from 3:00 to 3:30. I did try brewing less than 2:30 and the same flavors were missing, but the cup was undrinkable.Only issue I've had to overcome was the beans required a little prespraying as they have more static than I see in other light roasts.

Clean and smooth tasting beans at an affordable price
I love coffee, from making pour overs to pulling espressos, so I've tried a lot of single origins from different roasters. While I do enjoy beans with complex flavors and aromas, sometimes it's just really nice to enjoy a smooth, consistent cup that helps the set the day off right. That's what I really like about the Venus and Jupiter beans that I tested out over the Thanksgiving holiday. The >10 people present also loved these beans for their mild body, smooth and clean taste. I liked the Ethiopian light roast more, as it was milder. On top of this, the price is quite affordable compared to other single origin beans. I highly recommend!

Good price. 1/2 light roast + 1/2 medium roast for Venus
This was a good value for single origin Ethiopian coffee. There are at least 2 different roasted coffee beans in the container. Roughly half the beans are light roast and the other half are darker. I prefer to buy light roast coffee and so I was pleasantly relieved that a light roast flavor shines through the blend. The maker clearly wanted their product to be "halfway" between light and medium as this is marked on the bag. So to summarize: you get light roast Ethiopian flavors and also a full-bodied complexion with a hint of the medium roast toasty elements that many Americans are hooked on.

Good coffee beans
At its launch, the coffee beans are relatively fresh.

Heavy price increase
I bought this just before Christmas this year and was looking to purchase again. The flavor was a bit bitter but still really very flavorful for a cold brew. The beans also looked of high quality, and they were as fresh as you can get, showing a roasted date. Would buy again if the price was 9.99 again instead of 19.99. Not sure why they raised it by so much.

Lovely for cold brew!
Just as described you're hit with big strawberry scents when opening the bag, with vagueness of lemon. Similar to when you have a swab of lemon over a cocktail - just a touch. I used a 1:5 ratio for cold brew and added just a touch of simple syrup to my glass to bring those flavors to the top. Less than .25oz for a 6oz pour. No milk or cream. It's very lovely to say the least. The strawberry comes through once more wrapped in a slight bitter cocoa note. Lemon once again as well that keeps it rounded and not overly bitter or acidic at all. Definitely will be purchasing this again for more cold brew!

Delicious coffee, great customer service
I bought this coffee for the first time hoping for the best and I was very happy! The flavor is great, very smooth, not acidic. I switched to organic after having a lot of stomach pain drinking regular coffee. I generally prefer a light/medium roast, and this is right on point. I've ordered many coffees on Amazon but this is in my top 3. Also, one bag out of the numerous I've gotten so far was not quite right with the roast quality, and the company was quick to respond and replace my bag. Give this coffee a try!

Everyone loved the nitro cold brew
First time making a cold brew. I was doing it as an experiment at a large event to see how well it would be received, and if we wanted to do it again. Suffice it to say, it was very well received, and as the word spread thru the group that we had a hand-crafted nitro cold brew available, requests started to pour in.I made a 1:7 concentrate and diluted to a 6-gallon 1:14 finish. then put it in a corny keg and put it on “Guinness mix” (also called Nitroxide) which is a 75% nitrogen, 25% CO2 mix for 4 days. I built a small tabletop single faucet beer tower stand with a nitro faucet on it, and dispensed at 30psi. I probably could have taken that up higher to get a better head next time. One of the baristas at Starbucks told me they dispense at 70psi, which I thought was a bit much for a little home Mande setup, but maybe I’ll try that next time.Overall, it was very well received by novice and seasoned cold brew drinkers. A few people told me that they had never had it before but were hooked and might just switch over from regular coffee permanently. So, a great success! I’ll get more when we do the event again.
