First step in skincare routine
Japanese and Korean skincare approach is to provide as much moisture to the skin as possible. And they believe this is what watery substances should do. Here comes the lotion. It's job to penetrate the skin and saturate it with moisture. This is the first layer after you cleansed your skin. Other steps - like emulsion or cream - follow. They help to "lock" the moisture in your skin.Unlike Western lotions, Japanese and Korean lotions are not designed to remove remnants of the make up and dirt. If you still have dirt and makeup on your skin after cleansing - you should dump your cleanser. These lotions are designed to give your skin a drink. The trick is to choose the right one for you.I have a sensitive, thin skin prone to redness. For this reason many botanical essences and extracts do not work for me. I can't even tolerate hyaluronic acid in cosmetics. My allergies got worse after the Covid inoculations, so I was forever searching for something that can calm my skin.I am happy to say this lotion works as it should. It calms my skin and provides the much needed first layer of moisture. Leaves skin softer, smoother and fresher.

Holy Grail Essence Lotion
This is my favourite Essence Lotion for my dry sensitive skin.I use it after double Cleansing as my 1st step of moisturising. I use 3 pumps let it dry then another 3 pumps and thus is enough to really calm & soothe my skin.
