Lectures on Ancient Philosophy

As with most of Mr Halls lectures, this book holds great detail on each topic/ chapter. Written on topics that, in my opinion, Mr Hall researched and thought about more than his masterful companion preceding this book.I enjoyed the topics he covers and they will have you in wonder for years if not your entire lifetime.Another wonderful, thought provoking novel by Mr Manly. Manley P Hall, as in his other writings, delves deeply into his subjects. At times the heaviness of his wording appears to almost be a coded system. The subjects are not light ones and there are times when a particular paragraph or sentence required to be read two sometimes three times before the subject starts to become clear. Often the content seems shrouded, until the reader tales time to digest what Hall as wrote and has in some cases sat back and virtually meditated over what has been written, before the impact begins to come clear. With Hall's writing, there are times the best thing to do with a particular item, which at first or second reading appears to be confusing, put the book down, walk away and come back after a cup of coffee, tea or some other beverage, to carefully read the particular subject slowly and carefully and the intent written becomes clearer.

This is probably the most profound book I've ever read on philosophy. It may be a readers companion guide to "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" but that doesn't mean it's easy to read. Manly P. Hall does not disappoint and his passion for the subject comes through. I'm expecting this book to take me a couple months to complete because it's just so dense and filled with information. Perhaps not as easy to understand at a glance because this is NOT a dictionary of terminology or theories, rather, it's an overview of some of the principles and philosophical ideas covered in his lifelong mission to understand the divine.

This book has "Companion to The Secret Teachings of All Ages " as its subtitle, and I agree that it definitely follows up well The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Mr Hall goes more in depth into subjects of Secret Teachings. If you're considering buying The Secret Teachings of All Ages, I highly recommend Lectures On Ancient Philosophy to go with it.

It is indeed an interesting book, it is funny how a book which deals with ancient truths can be so refreshing in these days, where many books have letters and sentences, but no messages, beauty or wisdom. Highly recommendable if you want to have a bite on the ancient beliefs and philosophies of the most important cultures / religions of the world.Manly P. Hall seems to clarify in a single books, things that are dispute between religions for centuries.

Another wonderful work by Manly Palmer Hall. The book continues where The Secret Teachings of All Ages left providing the reader with ancient esoteric knowledge. Please note if you are heavily indoctrinated by any religion or dogma, this book is not for you. Its for those who honestly seek truth and the betterment of self and the world.

This follow up book to Manly P Halls The Secret Teaching Of All Ages, is amazing. I highly recommend it. It is truly humbling & eye opening.

Manly P Hall has an excellent style of writing. His clarity of expression is first class. His texts are well worth adding to your library.

For anyobne looking to go deep into ancient philosophy without the crouch of dogmatic academic views. Hall, with his unlimited knowledge tell it how it is and even thou his way of comunicating is very archaic is also very elegant and never boring. A large book full of wisdom, a must have.

I'm a Manley P Hall fan and this is an awesome sequel to The Secret Teachings Of All Ages. I'm very happy with this product and it arrived sooner than I expected so that was just an added bonus.

I picked this book up at the library and new I had to order it. Highly recommended.
