Different than most papers I've tried, but good;
I did not like this as much as I like the U-ART paper. This is 320 grit, but feels much finer, almost like 600 or 800. I only know because I bought a sample pack of the U-Art where they have like 6 different grits to compare. I have used several brands, and one of my brands is no longer available, but I think I'll be using U-Art mostly. There are, however, many wonderful qualities to this paper. It is high quality, thick, smooth, well done, not at all cheap looking, is expensive looking, has some durability in terms of scrubbing and takes a lot of layers. It's very dark charcoal, and that could be another thing that I don't prefer, since I was used to using either white or cream colored, and it just makes the whole painting brighter, truer to color, think about it, if you want the background light, you are basically going to have to add every layer of it, you can't fall back on the light paper.I also put down an underpainting with quite a bit of alcohol, and it didn't buckle, I was not super heavy with it though, plus I live in Arizona and things dry quickly here, esp. in the summer (now.)All that said, hope it's helpful, but although I'm not a beginning artist by any means, I am a beginner to this medium for the most part, and am experimenting with materials, so I cannot offer you expert advice. I used several types of soft pastels on this paper, including, and mostly, Sennelier and Mussini pastels, and Rembrandt.It is worth the money, I think, which is why I tried it, as it is one of the more affordable ones. If you want to pump out a lot of art on a fairly high quality piece of sanded paper, this is worth experimenting with, and for what it is, I will give it five stars, but it's still not my favorite for my purposes.

Very nice grit sanded paper
As a pastelist for many years we try to find the best priced paper and this is a great choice. Love the colors available too.

Thick, Feels like Heavy grit sand paper, Eats pastels BUT because of the tooth of the paper, allows VIBRANT and BRILLIANT color
Very nice paper and Lovely color. This paper literally feels like a thick sheet of heavy grit sand paper. If you haven't used sanded paper for pastels before, and just have used let's say Canson Mi Tientes, prepare yourself.. This stuff is night and day difference. The only thing I believe one could complain about is the fact that it EATS pastels. HOWEVER that would be expected after feeling the paper. This heavy grit provides so much tooth for the pastel to grab on too and leave BRILLIANT and VIBRANT strokes of color. Soft (chalk) pastels blend well upon application. I used fabercastell soft (chalk) pastels and Prismacolor Nu-pastels ( in between a chalk and oil pastel). Both work lovely and produce amazing color. This is worth your time as a pastel painter.

Good grit.
Nice sanded paper, good thickness. One star for sheerness as it doesn't apply to this item.

My Favorite Pastel Paper
Premier Pastel Paper is currently my favorite for pastel painting. It takes many layers and holds up well to occasional wet underpainting. The terra-cotta tone of the paper works very well with portraits, skyscapes and landscapes. Plus this paper is 100% cotton archival paper, which means a lot to me.

Came bent
I like this product for pastels very much, BUT this time the items came with the corners bent. They must have seen this during shipping, but shipped it anyway. As a Professional Artist I cannot accept damaged papers.

I love this paper
I've used many grades of sandpaper for pastel painting. It's a nice grit of paper to draw/paint on, holds the colors and pastels well. Was able to draw fine lines as well as swaths of color. I have now ordered this paper over and over again.

My favorite pastel paper so far - in my limited experience
I am just learning to use pastels. I love this paper because it's white. So far I have been using Uart which is a tea color or the tinted colored papers, but I really missed working on white. I like the tooth on this paper, it does not seem to buckle any more than the Uart when applying water for underpaintings (haven't tried turp or mineral spirits yet), and I feel like the finished painting has a lighter, more vibrant quality.

I'm a beginner so I don't know much about pastel sandpaper but I find this product to work well for me and price is reasonable.
