Would recommend.
Works well and easy to install.Have had it installed in our backyard to water our garden daily for about 3 months. The retracting mechanism works as expected and keeps things tidy. It is a huge time-saver and the has a very long reach. It comes with sturdy hardware for installation and seems to be built to last.

Good, not great.
Update: Changing my review from 1 to 5 stars. The manufacturer replaced the unit without a hassle and should be here in a few days. Sometimes products don't work the way they were intended too. I'm glad the company recognized that and sent a replacement.I've had this up on my wall for approximately 5 months. Initially, it worked great. The function is awesome and it reels well, but the hose quality is lacking. Maybe I got unlucky? The hose split and is now bulging out. Its only a matter of time before it bursts. Mild-moderate use over a dirt yard.

Overall, a vast improvement over a crank reel
Overall, I like it.Mounting on a 4X4 was fine but you're going to have to angle the included lag screws in a bit--the bracket's made more for mounting on a 6X6 OR mounting to an existing wall. That being said, the 4X4 worked just fine and is plenty sturdy. Took me about 5 minute total to mount it.I wanted a longer one, but opted for the 100' because of the metal bracket. Once I got my hands on the bracket I realized plastic would have been okay since the "metal" bracket is either cheap pot metal or, possibly, aluminum. Works fine but doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in how long it'll last.Make sure you've got some teflon tape on hand for the connections--despite being brass, they're not at all tight but with a four or five wraps of teflon tape, they seal up nicely. The unwind/rewind mechanism take just a few minutes to get used to. Getting the hose to lock into place when you pull it out is sort of hit and miss, but you get the hang of it quickly. REwinding, on the other hand, is a breeze and WAY better than having to crank a hose reel. I let it re-wind through my hand so there's no grass getting into the mechanism. My only complaint is the nozzle which is complete junk. I swapped it out for a Craftsman nozzle and it works very well.

The kids need the splash pad daily!
If the automatic roll up system isn’t enough of a selling point by itself everything else about his should be.I’m on my second one (only because I’m dumb and didn’t blow it out before winter came and it froze) but I would buy it every year if I had too. The reel on this is unmatched it’s smooth and easy to lock, it’s easy to roll back up even if you have all 130 feet rolled out. It makes rolling the hose out for the kids splash pad daily a breeze 30 second process tops. The swivel head makes it beyond easy too pull around corners and different weird angles that you may have in your yard. The mounted bracket is extremely easy to mount and it makes a nice easy removal process when you need to store it. On top of all that it’s an incredible sleek look that isn’t even comparable to a conventional hose reel.If you haven’t bought one already don’t think twice.

Great hose reel
Easy to install and use. This is a really good product. Have had my first one for 3 years and still works perfectly. I broke the 2nd one and can honestly say I have never dealt with a customer service department that was more helpful. They were so patient with me during the process and resolved my problem with ease. This is a great product and good people, I even bought 2 more so will have one on all 4 sides of property. They gave me a discount too!. Very happy

I've had a 100' 5/8 Girraffe for a short while. The screw device that moves the hose back and forth broke quite early, making it a chore to get the hose back on the reel. They don't sell parts to fix the thing so it's trash. I should have just went with another (much less expensive) product. I didn't. I bought a second Girraffe. This one is 1/2 inch and only 75'. I figured it might work better being smaller and lighter. I'll come back and review that one once it's installed and working. BUT! I felt the need to pass along a major flaw right out of the box.The new hose reel bracket is just an inch or so smaller than the one I already had screwed to my house - through the vinyl siding. The new reel will not fit on the old bracket and there is no logical reason why. Also, the bolt pattern is different on both planes, so at least 3 more holes must be put into my siding. This is a top brand, at a premium price. To be fair, the quality of the hose, sprayer and housing on both models is very good. The engineering sucks! They need to seriously beef up the strength of the spindle that moves the hose back and forth on the reel. And why would they took the cases mountings different? It's both costly for them and a disservice to customers that buy more than one or who replace an old one with new. Again, you screw these into your siding on your house. the design should be more permanrent.

Worth every penny
This product is perfect, just as advertised. Vert easy to install with the plugs and bolts provided. It mounted easily to back brick wall of my house. Strong water flow and the variable nozzle is a plus. Worth recovery penny.

I love these hoses!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I love these garden hoses!! Purchased two of them to replace the standard old green hoses that are a PIA to deal with. What a difference!! I wish I purchased these a long time ago. Great price and solid construction. We picked the heavy duty metal attachment bracket. We installed one hose into a cinder block wall and the other in a brick wall using the supplied hardware without issue. I appreciate the design feature where you can easily pick the hose reel up off the bracket and store inside for the winter. I have been using both hoses all season and the spring loaded retraction feature makes it easy to coil the hose up automatically when I am done using. Also, the hose housing swiveled left and right making it easier to water plants in the front of my house and then on the side without the hose tangling.
