Bright budget open-back headphones!
Really good for the price! Fairly comfortable, the earpads are nice, the headband is serviceable. VERY bright sounding. The high end comes through very strong, but it's a fun sound profile!

Don't Sleep on the K701s
The AKG K701 has been around for quite some time. They are a reference class headphone which use flat wire voice coil technology and Varimotion diaphragms. The use of the flat-wire voice coil is to resist fatigue better so the headphones can provide accurate sounds and transient response. Varimotion refers to a multi-layer or variable thickness diaphragm to assist in providing sparkling highs and accurate bass. Reason I mention this is due the the MSRP of $599 (can easily be found for less though), which means this headphone really needs to deliver. Here are my thoughts after using them for some time: Pros: -Comfort: This headphone is lightweight and has little clamp force, making it extremely comfortable for long periods of time. Adjustments are done using an elastic suspension system, which means it automatically adjusts perfectly to your head every time you wear it. -Sound: As expected, the K701s have excellent sound performance. It is very detailed and analytical; perfect for studio use in my opinion. It also offers a wide soundstage with its open back design. While treble detail and performance is the highlight, bass extends fairly deep and sounds accurate. Neutral: Open-back: This is a known feature going into this headphone and are typically used to improve soundstage (which they do in this case). That said, headphones to me are meant to be portable and allow the user to isolate their audio from their surroundings. This type of design leaks audio, so others can hear it, and offers little to make it portable (no case, headphone doesn't fold, and bulky wire). These are meant to use at a desk, not on the go. Cons: -Build Quality: While the finishes are nice, the plastics used at this price point seem quite cheap. I would have expected these to be made of something more substantial. -Stand: This headphone comes with a stand, but it is really cheaply built and seems a bit like an afterthought. -Cable: This headphone uses a thick, long cable with a 1/4in jack. Clearly it was designed for studio use. For home use, it is bulky. The 3.5mm adapter seems to put a lot of weight on the 3.5mm terminal plug, so I'm not sure how long it would last with extensive use. It is also non-removable, so if it breaks it will take more effort to repair. Overall, while the K701s offer excellent sound, they also offer quite a few compromises for their list price. That said, with the market price being less than a third the cost, these can start to make a lot more sense. These headphones have been around for awhile because they continue to offer excellent sound and comfort. Don't sleep on the K701s (literally and figuratively).

Love these Headphones!!
Great sound! Comfortable and great value for the money. I EQ, so the naturally low frequencies are fixed immediately. The level of detail of the mid and high frequencies is superb. I love them being white, it gives them personality. It comes in a great big box. Great quality item.

Excellent for mixing, mastering, and producing !
These headphones are comfortable for long sessions and have a great flat response for mixing on the road or in the studio. I use them to mix and produce in the late night hours . My results have been just as good if I were using my Yamaha HS8 monitors .
