Wireless Outdoor Security Camera,1080p, Motion only

This is my 2nd SimpliSafe outdoor cam purchase. Been using one on the east coast for over a year now, and this one will live on the west coast. Cameras are easy to mount and position. I do wish there was an option that could make the cameras more tamper/theft proof, so they could be mounted in lower height locations. Cameras work well and seem to have good wifi signal capture. Using one with an eero mesh, and one is outside but only about 20' from the main router. They capture good images, but even at 1080, zoom gets grainy sooner that it should. Haven't really used the "spotlight" feature but will be trying it out this summer. Cameras are easy to setup in the SimpliSafe app. I like to power them up while I'm inside close to the wifi router, add them to the system and name them, update them, etc. Then take them to their mounting location and test their connection with the SS app once there. I like being able to see the grid of motion-sensor areas and disable certain ones, keeps bushes and trees from constantly tripping the cameras.

Arrived on time and undamaged. It's quick and easy to set up and start using. I really like having these cameras on all sides of my home because it's so easy to just click on the camera on my phone to see that a noise was about or who's around your house. I highly recommend there outdoor cameras.

Added this camera to the system we purchased years ago as the doorbell camera picks up movement across its vision, but not always head-on movement. It easily connected to the system and was simple to mount with two small screws provided. The magnet attaching it to the base is very strong and allows for many positions. We placed it about 8-10 feet above the entry with a 30 degree angle as suggested. The battery takes time to charge but after registering 99% on the app, it is still showing 98% after 4 days of service. I also purchased a back-up battery. These are simple to slide on. Clear picture and motion. Solid connectivity performance. Great sound and voice speaker. The only minor flaw I have noticed is that the magnet is so strong, when I twisted the camera during positioning, it came free of the base. If I had not had a firm grip on the lens I may have dropped it. I highly recommend this and all the SimpliSafeproducts I've used.

I love Simplisafe first off. I have been a long standing customer (since 2013 Ish??). So before I even mention the outdoor camera, for all those who are questioning their financial options for family safety vs contracts & lots of service fees and equipment, stop 🛑! Try out Simplisafe. You have a legit company that will monitor your home safety AND call you /and/ or the police ASAP. The system is literally so easy and inexpensive to use and also the setup. (Literally like plug in and connect to WiFi). Tip -you can find a lot of renewed/ used Simplisafe equip on Amazon where ppl have upgraded to newer SImplisafe systems. You also have the choice to opt out and monitor your home via text and email ( you will get alerts and/ or live recordings sent to you). You can also have the police be alerted in case of emergency. It is VERY important to register your alarm system in whatever county or city you live in, or you can be fined hundreds of dollars every time police show up when contacted or whatever policy your local police have over unregistered alarm services. Ok so the system really Works! We lived in CA (prior to Texas ). We were in the process of remodeling our home ourselves, and we weren’t living there yet. We were a young family with lots of kids and babies to look after, so money was tight. We were hesitant to sign up with Simplisafe. Our hesitancy cost us THOUSANDS when thieves CLEANED us out of more than half my husband’s tools. Literally almost every tool we left in the house was stolen. It was AWFUL! Lesson LEARNED! We immediately realized that our personal belongings, furniture and home needed protection! More importantly our children and loved ones safety was our MAIN priority. Our hesitancy was because we didn’t know anyone who had used it and we questioned it’s reliability and the price was almost too good to be true. Literally the service for professional monitoring was around $15 a month ( early 2010s thru 2014). Also I was wondering if the products REALLY worked. So after the robbery, we immediately purchased one of the Simplisafe systems that came w/ a base, a number lock pad, window and door sensors (no camera though). I liked the fact that you also got to keep the equipment, even if you don’t use their professional monitor. The system was like peel and stick easy! We were thrilled! One early morning shortly within a couple weeks of signing up, we were alerted by the police and met them at our home. ( we still weren’t living in the house) Well luckily no one was there and that night had been a VERY unusually windy night. Basically the motion sensors and system was alerted by the forceful wind! That was the ONLY time it falsely alerted because one of our trees was blown and it’s branches hit( not broke) the sliding glass door. We were grateful and impressed by the accuracy and monitoring of SImplisafe. Just register your alarm because we were sent $100 fine because the police came out after we hadn’t answered ( heard) SImplisafe customer service trying to reach us. If we had registered the alarm, we wouldn’t have been fined by police station. Anyway so yes SImplisafe is LEGIT and I’m not affiliated or paid for my review. I just want people to know that the equipment works very well, customer service is great and the affordability blew all the other alarm companies out of the galaxy. No contract, it’s month to month. I think you can even trade in older system and upgrade systems for very reasonable prices. They don’t charge you more for service if you add more motion sensors etc. At the time we originally signed up they didn’t have an outdoor camera available yet. Fast forward to 2021 we still have Simplisafe and just purchased the outdoor camera. It works well. You can talk thru it and watch live. It is motion sensored so it will record and send you recordings of whoever walks close to it. No false alarms, and no cars driving by alert it. It is well made. Only time I’ve had an issue with it was when my wifi was bad and I tried to watch live camera from my location, which was my phone’s fault not SImplisafe.. Other than that, no probs works great. Give it a chance. Great alarm company and great prices.

What they show you on television, isn't real life. While the system is a learning curve in the first time initial setup, after that it's a breeze. But the cameras are another thing. AND IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THEIR SOFTWARE!!! It shouldn't take 15-30 seconds for the cameras to come to life or even shut down before activating. And even when properly set up, they shouldn't track and record like the RAY HARRYHAUSEN STOP MOTION FILMS (remember Jason and the Argonauts or the Sinbad series). My previous ADT's were just a little better. These cameras also did a better job of picking up a raccoon doing his business on my deck, than filming the homeless guy standing outside my front door one Sunday evening while the wife was at bingo (the neighbors saw him. THE CAMERAS DIDN'T!!!). Another thing......SIMPLISAFE needs to update their system so that your AMAZON KINDLE FIRES can access your system.

When my FIL passed away from a car accident, we found that Simplisafe had recorded all his movements in front of our garage camera before he drove away for the last time. We saved those 15 second clips as they are the last images of him alive. I guess we should thank Simplisafe for that. Rest in peace
