Install with leg pointing down.
Excellent product. If you are standing outside a door that opens inwardly. Open the door to 90 degrees. Turn the door stop so THE LEG is pointing down and away from you and it will hook right over the middle door hinge and drop down in place and lock the door open at 90 degrees. Cross ventilation from open windows at the back of my apartment with windows open cause a breeze to catch the front door and slam it shut, with a bang, Very annoying. This never happens with this excellent door stop. It holds firmly and DOES NOT COME LOOSE. As far as I can tell this is the most effective door stop out there, and the material (aluminum), will be very durable. You can pass it down to your grand children and they can pass it down to their grand children. This door stop is one of the best products I have purchased from Amazon.

durable and holds door open at good angle
works great so far, using on an ADA accessible door that we always keep open, but need to be able to shut in case of fire, metal seemed like the only option to withstand the pressure of the ADA door always wanting to close

Excellent Product
This door stop is one of the strongest if not the strongest you can get. It's easy to use and being made of solid metal, it's unlikely to be easily broken. Works very well for the heavy doors in my building.

It works well.
Strong and durable. There is a ramp up to the door that I needed it for, so traditional bottom door stops were not an option. This product is less hassle than the PVC pipe wedged under the latch handle that we had been using to keep the door open. Just open the door and place on the middle hinge. Obviously, watch your fingers even though it has that safety bar to hold onto it.

Passes the Homeowners Association "test"
My HOA will not allow any propping open of doors with a small boulder or traditional door stopper, so this device is being used to prop open a 1.25" aluminum frame screen door. So far, no complaints from neighbors or HOA. The device doesn't always fit snuggly, perhaps it was designed for the door (not the screen door), but it fits well enough so that the screen door doesn't move forward or backward, even when wind is 6-8mph.

Is this the one you should get? Yes
This is what you're looking for. after trying cheaper plastic ones that kept popping out, not holding the door properly... this slides over the hinge and worked perfectly.

Sturdy!
Sturdy! Previous plastic purchase, that was terrible. This metal door stop is great!

As advertised
The materials used and noncollapisible design make this a much sturdier and robust option compared to some of the plastic/folding competitors. The tradeoff is that it’s comparatively clunkier. If you need something durable, tough, and straightforward, this is a fantastic option. If you prefer something collapsible, look elsewhere, and keep in mind that the materials and design will most likely result in a shorter tool-lifetime.
