For me, this product did exactly what I expected it to: I had a ring stuck on my finger and was able to use this to cut it off. I will say, it wasn't the best quality.. the wheel was not aligned properly. That being said, I was still able to use it effectively and feel it was worth the price. It does not come with directions, but it's fairly self-explanatory in my opinion.

I bought the ring cutter to cut off a ring from my finger. After two or three turns, the cutter stripped and no longer worked. Didn't even cut through one ring. Very disappointing.

I read all the reviews and took a chance. My fiancé even made fun of me after reading the reviews and told me it wouldn’t work. After having the ring he gave me when we first started dating 3+ yrs ago stuck on my finger due to stubbornness and not wanting to wait to have it resized. This did the trick in under 3 minutes.

Ours arrived broken. The key/crank piece was snapped off of the axle that turns the blade. This probably occurred in shipping. It came in a padded envelope which provided no protection for this protruding part. But that also made me wonder whether the shaft would have been strong enough to withstand the strain of cutting through metal.Upon discovering that the device was broken, I searched YouTube and found a video from a jeweler who showed how to safely snip a ring with a small pair of wire cutters and to pry it apart with some needle nose pliers. So we tried that rather than wait for a replacement. The wire cutters worked just fine for the three cheap thin toe rings that had to come off.If we had had to remove a heftier ring, I could see how a tool designed like this would make the process easy and safe. If you get an intact one and only expect to use it once or twice, this might be fine, especially for the low price. If you're a jeweler or medical person who might need a cutter more regularly, you probably should spend more to get a more robust tool.

I needed this to remove my husband's wedding ring after his fingers became swollen due to illness. The gadget was very easy to use, but halfway through the cut, something broke and I was no longer able to turn the "saw blade". You get what you pay for, I guess.

It did the job! Got that ring off within minutes without a scratch to my finger. Good quality.

Terrible product, it broke before I could finish cutting off the ring.
