Doesn't Feel Lux, But Doesn't Feel Cheap.
Pretty nice for a ten-spot! The matte black finish is discreet and feels quite nice. It is not a fingerprint magnet and it has a nice, satiny feel. The machining is adequate, though it doesn't have the feel of a truly high-end device. The hinge does not rattle, the device does not leak, and it's just loud enough to be ostentatious without being obnoxious (like the flair of using a fountain pen or checking the time on an expensive watch, for example). I can't comment, yet, on the quality of the steel as it pertains to rust avoidance, but the device did not seem to have any of the residue of machine oil that one might expect from products in this price range -- a good thing for a food vessel!
