Survives Arizona
We live in southern Arizona, so it can get well above 110° in the summers. We've had this waterer for a few weeks now, and the temperatures have been running in the high 90s. I was a bit worried about the water retention after reading other reviews, but I'm pretty impressed so far. Since it's an open dish at the bottom, it's going to evaporate faster than something like a hummingbird feeder, but we've only needed to fill it about every other day. One way we've found to combat the evaporation with the hotter temperatures is to fill the whole thing with ice and then fill the rest of it with water. The picture was taken right after I did this. You lose about 1-2 inches of water to the dish part when you flip it over, depending on how fast you are; that's just how it is. The only way I can think that you would have a completely full bottle is if it was filled and secured to the dish while under water (like in a bath tub or the sink or something). It doesn't leak past the little holes at the bottom, so there's only maybe half a centimeter of water sitting in the dish; I haven't had to worry about bugs drowning in it or anything like that. It's rust resistant so far, but it's only been a few weeks, so I can't attest to how it withstands months or years. However, it has already lasted longer than our hummingbird feeder (from a different company), which rusted immediately. Both the glass and the basin are thick and feel pretty sturdy. It's also easy to disassemble if you need to. The bottle does hold 16 oz, so while it does look "small" in person, it holds as much as advertised. We get quite a bit of bird traffic to our feeder and the waterer, and it's super easy to clean off whenever they do poop on it. This product does what it says it will, so I'm happy with it.

Not for winter use
This is my second one purchased. My only issue is that it's advertised as all season use but last winter it froze and shattered both the glass container and the plastic part of the base. I'm still pleased with it otherwise but for me it will be a 3 season accessory only.

It was great until it wasn’t
I bought in the summer. It’s beautiful. It held up very well. The birds loved it. Easy to clean. Then the winter came and it snowed. I went to add birdseed in feeders and saw glass on the ground. Looked up and the glass had broke from the freeze. I was very disappointed. I thought it would be durable. It was durable until it wasn’t …. I would have gave a 2 star, but I added a star because I loved the color.

Bird water feeder
This feeder is listed as a water feeder. When I filled it, it overflowed, and no way to use it for water...just gushed out! So, then I put seed in it and the seed could not get through the holes to the tray. So, this was a bust for us! Birds were very frustrated! As was I! Rating of 0.
