Ideal for good practices
I’m enjoying this reading, I think this book is for whose that have a background working in roles like ETL developer and others related to data processing, recently advancing their careers to data engineering with Azure. I consider unfair giving a bad review because of a lack of understanding of the author’s goal: provide good (best) practices for data engeniering

Still useful to some degree, but already out of date.

Very Informative and Excellent Book! Covers Advanced topics! Nicely Done!
Firstly, writing a book on Azure Data Engineering is not easy as there are many topics that can be covered. Also with the constantly evolving Azure space, its tough for samples to stay relevant over time. That being said, Mr. L'Esteve has done a great job with outlining this book to include extremely relevant topics and examples within each chapter. Also, he frequently updates his 'From the Author' section to add updates and supplements to the book. While there is quite a lot of code in the book, Mr. L'Esteve has included a link to this code repo and sample databases. While it may be a challenge for the novice reader to follow, this book is packed with relevant and cutting edge code, resources, concepts, and architectural patterns that many organizations, consultants, and modern Azure Data Platform projects are seeking to implement the right way. The book assumes an advanced level of Azure Data Engineering knowledge, therefore it doesn't waste to much time and space on the 600+ page book on topics that can easily be found on Microsoft's site or from a google search. Overall, a great read for the advanced reader!!

Not For Beginners
If this is the first Azure data engineering book you read you will be totally lost and frustrated. The title of this book is misleading -- it's not an A-to-Z walkthrough of Azure data engineering technologies. Instead, this is a cookbook for experienced data engineers. This book demonstrates a number advanced techniques (many of which I haven't seen before); however, it doesn’t do a good job of explaining the why behind each technique. You’ll have to determine the usefulness of each technique on your own.

Excellent Book! 5 Stars! Covers Azure Data Topics in Great detail!
This book contains relevant hands on exercises that were easy to follow along and implement. It has served as a goto guide while implementing solutions for a customer project. Complex concepts and examples were explained well through step by step instructions and figures. I've learned a lot about Azure Data Engineering from this book! Highly recommended!
