Mission Battery Base for HomePod Mini (Black) (Make HomePod Portable)

Update Feb 21/22… my initial review (immediately below) remains unchanged! The Mission Base pair works perfectly, adding portability to my HomePod Minis. Recommended!***************Received the Mission Battery Base (2 x Black) a few days ago and thus far I’m very pleased with the way they’ve preformed.Some observations: 1.) nicely and professionally packaged2.) right out of the box they had a solid, hefty feel to them… no flimsy, cheap plastic quality.3.) instructions were simple to follow and included on the outside of the box as well as on the instructions inside.4a.) the bottom of the Mission Battery Base is magnetic and attaches solidly without any latches or snaps.4b.) the power supply cord that is permanently attached to the HomePod mini is the perfect length to be wrapped around inside the Mission base and just long to fit into the slot on the mission base… i.e. no excess cord flopping around.4c.) AND the surface of the flat bottom base is also made out of a non-abrasive material… making it very unlikely to scratch or mark a wooden table or cabinet top!5.) Power Supply… there is a USB-C cord (60 inches) that comes with the Mission Battery Base unit that you plug one end into your wall outlet (USB-C) and the other end into the slot on the Mission Battery Base.6a.) the unit has a power on/off button that when turned on, light a series of 4 soft blue glo lights to show charge level.6b.) these 4 blue lights are very dim (to me at least) but if they seemed too bright for bedtime, the front face of the Mission Battery Base can be turned away from direct line-of-sight because the HomePods broadcast in 360° direction.7.) the HomePod minis fit snuggly into the Mission Base and would not come out even when turned upside down and shaken.8.) and maybe most important to me, the Mission Battery Base gave me the portability for my HomePod Minis that I was looking for. Now I can move them from room to room or to my outside patio and have my music/podcasts (in stereo) wherever I want.In conclusion… a wonderful asset for the HomePod minis and an almost ‘must-have’ if you love your HomePod Minis and want more versatility in your listening options.I’m surprised Apple didn’t think of something like this when they developed the HomePod Minis… seems like a ‘no brainer’ to me.5 Stars… more if I could.

I had a Homepod Mini in my bathroom to play music while I shower (this helps me from zoning out and taking too long of a shower) - yes, I realize I'm gambling the health of my mini by exposing it to the moisture of my bathroom...yes..I know..I'm the worst xD.If I could afford it, I'd have a speaker in every room, I listen to a lot of content throughout my day and my phone's speaker sucks. The dream someday is to be able to bring it into my car as a backup, (my CarPlay system is old and doesn't consistently work), however my car would have to have its own wifi (or I would have to have a portable hotspot that's crazy strong).Enter the Mission Battery Base- I'd heard about this device years ago and only recently took the plunge.When it arrived, it wouldn't charge. I found out through testing that the cord they provided with it was faulty. Rather than return it through amazon I took a chance and emailed the company directly- I thought it would be such a waste to return the entire device back to Jeff Bezos' trash heap when I could just get a new cord.Mission support was soooo friendly and responsive- they got back to me right away and mailed out a replacement cord.I love this thing- I especially like being able to experiment with the placement of my homePod Mini within my environment, the acoustics are strange so I have to place the speaker in very specific places to get decent sound.TL;DR: Works as advertised, support is amazing, and it's fun to place your Homepod mini in weird places. Do it!

This works as expected. My only complaint is that the lights which show remaining power aren’t very bright and are difficult to see. That’s a bit disappointing as it could result in difficulty determining battery status and thus it could run out of power unexpectedly.

I wanted something to be able to move about the house in the morning listening to soft music without having to have a HomePod everywhere I might be and then sit and switch sound as I move around. This just does the trick. Charge fully on first use, I didn't and almost returned. Once I charged it fully, I've been very impressed with the battery too.

The media could not be loaded.  Works great! FYI you can change your HomePod mini settings to work directly with your iPhone if you’re away from a WiFi connection

– First of all, I am blown away with how simple this product works.– As another video reviewer said, you can seamlessly take this with you and it'll silently convert into an Airplay speaker without dropping the audio from you phone.– Weight is balanced so the speaker would stay upright sitting in a moving vehicle.– Battery life was decently surprising. Nearly an entire day of music playback from different times of day, and in different environments.– Purchased black out tape to cover the LED indicators as they were just annoying.– Leave it plugged in while using helps keep the battery topped up.Thoughts – I wish I could buy one of these for every homepod mini I have, and maybe will over time.Great product, would recommend to anyone.Bonus, you can simply attach another battery pack to the base for even longer listening pleasure. Simple USB-C.
