Great subwoofer for a good price!
UPDATE: AFTER 2 WEEKS I TOOK THE SUB OUT TO PUT IN MY NEW ALPINE TYPE R, AND THE PLANET AUDIO SUB WAS A LITTLE STINKY...I THINK MAYBE 600-650 RMS MIGHT BE A LIIIITTLE TOO MUCH FOR THIS SUBWOOFER. STILL SOUNDS AWESOME AND POUNDS, BUT I WOULD SAY 500 OR SO RMS POWER IS ABOUT MAX FOR THIS SUB.I did a lot of research on subwoofers in the past month because I wanted to add a new Amp and Subwoofer to my car. My old system was 20 years old. I decided to purchase the Rockford Fosgate R500x1D Amp. Now I wanted a 'cheaper' sub to use @ 2 ohms, because the existing subwoofer I had was a single voice coil 4 ohm. So this Planet Audio AC10D was a nice $30 choice. This rockford amp is rated around 650 RMS watts @ 2 ohms...and this subwoofer pounds! I must have the volume and gain set on the amp perfect for this sub, so it's getting probably around 600 watts (also verified with voltage and impedance tests at the speaker leads)...I'm telling you this sub gets low and rumbles my whole body and the whole car! I've got it in a shallow sealed 'truck style angled box' about .5 cu/ft. Very very impressed for $30, definitely worth it! If anyone wants bass on a budget, that amp is around $135 and this sub is 30 bucks...so for a $165, I am blown away by how cheap you can get Awesome sound out of a single 10" subwoofer paired with a decent amp!! After this purchase, I am a Planet Audio fan for life.

Big punch small price
Picked thus up to replace a failing alpine sub. Resistance checks were good. Surround and cone area seem to be good quality. Currently breaking in, but it played loud enough on half power. Does require a slightly larger box than comparable subs, but still functioned well enough in a 1cuft ported enclosure. May not be for the purist, but if you are looking for budget bass, look no further.

Good BANG for low buck ! Recommended for budget subs.
Just came in today , instantly hooked it up and it sounds good along with my Skar 12 and My Rockford prime r1200 class d amplifier. Just wanted something to go along with my other 12. But good bang for your buck. I’m sure that the 1800 watt is maybe exaggerated. But even then for 50 bucks and two day shipping ?!?! Like what ?!?! You really can’t go wrong. Thinking about buying another for shizz n giggles lol. Thank planet audio. Oh yea ps your subwoofer did NOT come with a sticker. Big booooooo 👎! I’m the type that flaunts those stickers on my ride and was kinda surprised that I didn’t get one today. But whatever. Still great product. Even in the break in phase. Thanks planet audio. !

Sounds bigger than just an 8.
Be patient and let this guy break-in.Took about 30 hours at moderate volume for mine.At first bass was weak and a bit sloppy but, after break-in, was full, tight, and amazing for just an 8.I do have it in a custom built sealed box, with plenty of clean power feeding it.Sounded good enough for me to purchase a second for my racing simulator.

Blows up after 10 days mild use.
I had a shop install the sub with the amplifier that was matched for it and in 9.5 days it was done. Now I can't find my receipt so I don't know what to do with it besides just eat it. I can say that the sound was very deep and very clear. I imagine it just can't handle the power rating advertised, or even half that much. If you put maybe 300 clean watts of MOSFET power to it you will get a decent sound. I used the planet audio 1500 watt monoblock amplifier model #AC1500.1M and after the break in period of 20 hours low level volume, I turned the amp up to 25% and it sounded fine. After another couple days I powered it up to approx 50% power with no bass boost, head unit settings all at default, nor any audio boosting apps, as it was clear digital music, and a half hour into the ride it was making such weird grinding noises I was afraid it might catch fire. So, I removed the speaker, inspected for damage, odd smells, anything, tested the amp with a 12" 1400 watt subwoofer and it was fine. And nothing. The tech at the shop said it was a faulty voice coil and that I should have picked a different company if I wanted a 15" sub that was worth the time. That being said, the experience wasn't without it perks. The delivery speed was fine by me, although it was several days late, I was informed of the speakers location and Amazon went above and beyond keeping me informed of why and what and where so on and so forth. So good job Amazon. Now, imma send the speaker back, let's see how it gets remedied. Hopefully the sales ticket from Amazon will suffice for replacing this item. Maybe it was just a bad factory install or faulty materials, I cannot say. And that happens. But let's just wait and see what planet audio does as far as honoring their product warranty. I can appreciate their amps as the one I purchased is very good. I would buy again, and if this is remedied appropriately then they will retain me as a customer for many years to come. If not, well I seek another brand.Bad speaker-good amp-Amazon right on target and very thorough.
