Stays put, dog can’t pull the stake out of the ground
This stake really is as amazing as advertised! We’ve used it over a year now with our 40 lb shar pei (who is built like a tank) and are still just as happy with it as the first day we used it. We have, however, been through 3 cables that attach to the stake as we haven’t discovered an equally amazing indestructible cable, yet.It is important to install properly or it will not work as designed. Ensure the orange part of the locking mechanism on the stake is twisted firmly into the part of the locking mechanism placed in the ground. The part in the ground should not move freely once installed or the plug of grass inside may become dislodged and prevent the locking feature from working. I did encounter a few areas where the ground was either too hard or too soft to install properly, so I just moved it to a different location. We did not leave it outside in the harsh winter months, so I don’t know how it would perform in those conditions but it was left in the ground (moved locations a couple times) the rest of the year. This is also very easy to travel with and we have confidence our dog will stay safely on leash and enjoy the outdoors with us wherever we go.

Well Done Stayk!
I purchased this product after much debate and research. I was very impressed by the well thought-out design and the company's response team. Even though we have an in-ground invisible fence system, I was warned by the breeder, that my Great Pyrenees puppy was not to be trusted without a visible fence or a sturdy tie-out. We can't have an above-ground fence in our neighborhood, so a tie-out that would hold a 100 lb.+ dog would be a necessity. So far, this Intelli-Stayk is everything I was looking for. Easy to install and remove when necessary and still very secure. The ground was pretty soft when I put it in, so I tested it by pulling the cable I had attached to it in every direction. It didn't budge a bit! My husband put it to the test later with the same result. Our puppy isn't full-grown yet but she's already pretty strong. Sometimes, she forgets that she's tied and will go running after our other dog (who's trained on the invisible fence). She knows when she reaches the end of the cable that she's not going any farther! This has really given us peace of mind in knowing that we can safely put our dog out for a little while and not have to watch her every second or walk around with her on the leash. We are very happy that we purchased this product.

Not for smart dogs
My dog outsmarted this thing. She dug around the orange cap and then circled around the limits of her leash pulling in different directions until she finally yanked it out of the ground. She then proceeded to dart across the yard, and hop the neighbors 4ft fence with her 15ft leash and this dragging behind her. I found the tie out and leash in their front yard where her collar finally broke. Thankfully by the time I had realized what happened, she was already back in my yard and unhurt. She's a very smart dog, like a evil genius super villain. For that I only took off a star. Clearly not design for super villains. For a more normal dog, this would probably work out fine. -After I returned it, I put the leash around one of the trees in my yard only to watch her through the window jump up on her hind legs and bite the branches while barking and yank/pull on the branches hoping to get free. Dang dog picked a fight with the tree. Too bad for her though, the tree won. Justice prevails! >:D

Holds tight for my 60lbs dog!
I almost returned this product, but probably more due to the ground than the product itself. This product comes in two pieces, the corkscrew and the orange plastic "surface lock." You're supposed to press the orange part into the ground and then insert the corkscrew and twist into place. It was the middle of summer when I was putting this in the backyard so our soil was incredibly dry and hard. I struggled to press the orange part into the soil and actually chewed up some of the teeth on the bottom, though I don't think this really affected the end use. Because the ground was so tough, I had to use another tool (a large wrench in this case) to help screw it into the ground. Again, this was more to due with the ground than the product. Since installed, we have had no problems. We've had this for several months and have taken quite a bit of rain but we have not noticed it loosen up at all. We use this for our 60lbs Bloodhound mix who will run full speed to chase a bird and yank on this screw and still it holds it's place in the ground. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who needs a tie out for their dogs.

It works! Excellent design.
This is great! I wanted to try teaching my hound to tether so she can enjoy more time outside while my Cavalier just wants to cuddle. (Both recent rescues) Also so I can take them more places with me. I looked at lots of stakes since the Brittany's we had used to be able to pull out traditional stakes. Also it's been such a WET season I wasn't sure any stake could hold. This does! Only a few minutes to install (used screwdriver to twist the last few turns, which is good because it will hold longer) and very sturdy. Both dogs (and I) hung out outside today for almost an hour and it didn't budge. I can tell when they get used to it and start darting after birds (I'm also using the bungee leash extensions on the dog and of the tethers, for their safety) it will hold well, even in grassy wet soil. Thanks!

Best Tie-Out out there
We had tried a number of tie-out stakes with our 9 month old GSD. All of them failed. Some tore out of the ground, some broke off, none kept him in place. He is only tied out over night, but we needed something that was durable. I saw this particular one, and for the price, I figured it would not hurt to try. I cannot express how completely satisfied we are with this product. I would recommend it over and over again. I would say we will continue to purchase this same tie-out, however, with the sturdy, well crafted item, we will likely not need another. We will for certain use this company for all of our other leash needs.
